T'"^1(
e
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
MINUTES - FEBRUARY 4, 1981
Chairman Ledvina called the Meeting to 'order at 7:30 p.m.
Present: D. Ledvina, C. Remmel, L. Horvatti; and W. Wasniak
Absent: E. DeVoto
Also Present: Building Commissioner E. Gundy and Recording
Secretary B. Oring.
The Nkinutes of January 7, 1981 are to be corrected under
Election of Officers: year should be 1981. L. Horvath
moved to approve the Minutes of January 7, 1981 as corrected
seconded by C. Remmel, and unanimously approved.
1. The Olmsted Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (The World for
Little People, Inc.), 5050 Porter Rd.,
Request for variance (1133.13). Request Special Permit to con-
duct Day Care Center in a residential area. Extended use for
Special Permit granted for Church. Special Permit required by
Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.01 E.
Chairman Ledvina called all interested parties before the Board.
The oath was administered. The request was explained by a
representative of the Church. The neighbors objected on the
basis that this was a commercial operation and that there was
no outside play area for the children. The Director of the '
Day Care Center explained that a fence would be installed, the
property would be upgraded, and the children would be supervised.
Chairman Ledvina stated that this is more of a commercial en-
terprise since church will not be operating the Child Care
Center itself. The neighbors felt that this church has been
operating as a commercial operation more than as a church since
they are renting out space to another church group and to var-
ious other groups in the evening. C. Remmel moved to grant the
Special Permit, seconded by L. Horvath, Roll Call on Motion:
Remmel, Horvath,.Ledvina, and'Wasniak, Nay. Motion failed
to pass.
