r - - <br />I <br />9 <br />CITY OF NORTH OI.MSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION• <br />MINUTES - JANUARY 13, 1981 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Bugala called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: B. Gorris, T. Morgan, J. Prokasy, J. Roberts, and R. Bugala. <br />R. Perla arrived at 8:10 p.m. <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner E. Gundy, Assistant City Engineer <br />D. McDermott, Assistant Law Director D. Ryan, and <br />Recording Secretary B. Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Brown moved to approve the Minutes of December 9, 1980 as sub- <br />mitted, seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(a) Signs: <br />Building Commissioner Gundy presented the signs which had been <br />reviewedbgy the Architectural Board of Review and advised that <br />the sign for JRU, Inc. had been withdrawn from the Agenda. <br />The signs were studied and discussed in conjunction with the <br />Architectural Board of Review Minutes of December 15, 1980. <br />B. Gorris moved to approve the signs for Mattress Warehouse, <br />Suburban Auto Body, and Pat's Ceramics as presented, seconded <br />by J. Prokasy, and unanimously approved. <br />(b) Ashland Oil Co. (Red Head Gas Station), 27447 Lorain Rd. <br />Building Commissioner Gundy,explained that a variance had <br />been granted by the Board.of Zoning-Appeals for construction <br />of the pump islands and canopy. The variance for an oversized <br />sign had been denied. Mr. Schutte, Ashland Oil, explained <br />that the present building would remain and that the plans <br />presented conformed to the variances granted. Building Com- <br />missioner Gundy stated that the existing wall signs were in <br />conformance to the Ordinance and the proposed pole sign is <br />now conforming. J. Prokasy moved to refer the Ashland Oil Co. <br />(Red Head Gas Station) proposal to the Architectural Board of <br />Review with the acknowledgement of the variance granted by the <br />Zoning Board of Appeals, seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously <br />approved. <br />/
