a

PLANNING COMMISSION JULY 28, 1981 PAGE 3
Mr. Tatakis of National City and Mr. Broida, Architect, explained
the revised plans which include all the recommendations of the
Architectural Board of Review.' The plans were studied in conjunc-
tion with the Architectural Board's Minutes. A 150 foot guard
rail will be installed along the eastern drive (next to the:adja-
cent shopping plaza) to prevent parked cars overhanging the park-
ing spaces along the driveway. There are now 217 parking spaces
which conforms to code. Captain J. VanKuran of the Fire Depart-
ment stated that there is room along the eastern drive for fire
equipment but their main concern is to keep the fire hydrant
clear and to make sure the fire trucks have access within 50'
of the sprinkler outlet. The two parking spaces beside the
propane tanks would probably be used by employees and should
not present a problem. He also stated that according to the
Ordinance, only access to the rear of the building is required.
Captain Brow of the Police Department had no problems with the
proposal. The residents were advised that there is total parking
for 217 spaces and the Ordinance requires 199. J. Prokasy
moved to approve the National City Bank Building at the corner
of W. 231 and Lorain Rd. as submitted including the recommenda-
tions of the Architectural Board of Review of July 20, 1981 and
the recommendations of the Safety Department relative to the
fire hydrants and including the 150' guard rail on the easterly
edge of the property as designated in the revised plan of July
22, 1981, seconded by R. Perla, and unanimously approved.
IV. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDIVISIONS:
(1) Carl Bower Subdivision (Assembly Plat), located on the west side
of Burns Rd., south of Northern Ave. Combining of the two (2)
parcels, 235-12-41 and 42, into one (1) sublot.
Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott presented the assembly plat
which is to combine two existing lots in a"B" residence district.
R.
