ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Gorris called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: J. Burns, T. Morgan, R. Perla, J. Brown, and B. Gorris <br />Absent: J. Prokasy and J. Roberts <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, Assistant City <br />Engineer D. McDermott, Building Commissioner E. <br />Gundy and Recording Secretary B. Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Page 2, Item (2), second paragraph, second line should read <br />"...seconded by J. Burns. Roll call on Motion: Morgan, Brown <br />Burns, and Gorris, aye_. R. Perla abstained." Fourth line from <br />bottom of page 2, first word should be use. Page 3, first paragraph <br />second last,line after Gorris, insert Aye. <br />J. Brown moved to approve the Minutes of October 27, 1981 as <br />corrected, seconded by R. Perla, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(1) Long John Silver's, 25482 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to construct restaurant. Building Commissioner Gundy introduced r4r. R. Schumay, engineer <br />for the project, who presented the site plan and landscape plan. <br />They will retain as many of the good trees and shrubs as pos- <br />sible in the rear of the property as a buffer. The building <br />will be their standard building with a cedar shake roof. The <br />restaurant can accommodate 80 people.It was pointed out that <br />a left turn.Dut of the Lorain Road driveway would be difficult <br />since it is so close to the intersection. Mr. Schumay stated <br />that it would be possible to nake the Lorain Road drive a right <br />turn only when exiting; traffic wanting to turn left would use <br />the Root Road driveway. Mr. Gundy advised that 37 parking <br />spaces are required and 38 were originally shown on the plan, <br />however, 2 spaces were taken for the dumpsters, and the front <br />space at the Lorain Road drive should be eliminated since <br />backing out could be awl:.ard. Mr. Shumay agreed to move the <br />parking area back to include extra spaces. R. Perla noved to <br />refer the Long John Silver Restaurant proposal to the Archi- <br />tectural Board of Review and with the request that the de- <br />veloper look into ingress and egress onto Lorain Rd. and examine
