..?
ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW AUGUST 1, 1980 PAGE 3
parking grade 2) that a landscape island be placed on the north-
east corner from the property line back from the first parking
space, 3) that the western planter area be increased to the re-
quired 7' landscape strip along Decker road and that the 2 most
southerly parking spaces be eliminated so as to retain the existing
approximately 5' landscape buffer on'the South lot line and a
raised bed landscaped area be placed on the Northwest corner of
the parcel at the Decker Lorain intersection and 4) that the
rough sawn cedar similar to the existing cedar be continued on
the new addition above the 2 overhead doors and the new land-
scaped beds be planted in a low maintenance material such as
dwarf fitzer juniper or other similar low growing plant, seconded
by M. Case, and unanimously approved.
(e) Red Lobster Inn, 24001 Lorain Rd.
This is an addition to an existing restaurant. The parking will
still be adequate. D. Williams moved to approve as presented
with the suggestion that the sidewalk be continued around the
addition, seconded by M. Case, and unanimously approved.
(f) Women's Federal Savings and Loan Association, 25290 Lorain Rd.
Itwas explained that this would be an addition across the front
of the existing building and the entire building will be refaced
with brick. The existing roof shingles will be repainted to
match the new shingles if possible, if not the entire building will
be re-roofed. The Board stated that the site plan needed re-
vision with consideration of the proposed relocated route 252:
the entrance as now planned will be at the intersection of the
new route 252 and 2) Parking set backs should be 7' and 3)
traffic should be one way with the entrance through the easement.
D. Williams moved to approve building plans and exterior plans
as submitted and disapprove the site plan and planting plan and
request that they be resubmitted to the Architectural Board of
Review, with the following recomendation included: 1) redesign
site plan to include the minimum 7' from property line to paved
area as required by Zoning Ordinance 2) either eliminate the
entrance on Lorain Road or change this entrance to be one way
in only 3) that the parking in front of building be relocated so as
to abutt the building sidewalk 4) redesign as necessary the parking
on the east side to be a minimum of 7' away from the parking lot
5) driveway to be 2 lanes one-way 6) changesidewalks as necessary
7) site plan to include location of signs 8) planting plan be
resubmitted to be in conformance with the site plan that the actual
variety of plants be restudied to provide better unity and sim-
plicity, eliminating the large number of gaudy specimens or
speciality type plants. The Board does recommend approval of the
sign design as submitted provided signage conforms with code,
seconded by M. Case and unanimously approved.
