ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW FEBRUARY 18, 1980 PAGE 2 <br />Approved and recommended to Planning Commission with the con- <br />dition that it meets all City Ordinances. <br />Taco Villa, Sparky La. and Brookpark Ext., Pole Sign and Wall Sign <br />Approved and recommended to Planning Commission as presented, <br />providing they meet all City Ordinances, with the suggestion <br />that the entrance sign h.e moved in 3 feet from the sidewalk, <br />and with the deletion of the approval of the location of the <br />menu board, contingent on the resubmittal and subsequent approval <br />of the site plan. (Approved with building plans) <br />Thesling Office Building, 25700 Lorain Rd., Ground Sign. <br />Approved and recommended to Plamzing Commission with the following <br />suggested changes: to delete the small 12" letter, "insurance, <br />accouftting, taxation, financial consulting", and increase the <br />size of the lettering of "Thesling Coulter and Assoc., and also <br />suggest replacing the two ground lights with a built in wash <br />light built integrally into the sign frame, possibly 4' flores- <br />cent_:tubes and the sun decal on the building but not to exceed <br />approximately 4' in diameter and to be located below the plane <br />of the canopy. (Approved with building plans) <br />JRU S*imming Pools (J. Uronis) 24270 Lorain Rd. Pole Sign and <br />Wall Sign. (Deleted from Agenda) <br />Approved and recommended to planning Commission with the condition <br />that the plywood signs be approved as temporary signs for a period <br />extending no longer than 1 year, as stated by the applicant as <br />the expected length of time to be at this location, at which time <br />the signs would be removed. <br />Waxman's Carpet Warehouse (Bob Cutler Signs), 24601 Lorain Rd. <br />Pole Sign and Wall Signs (Continued from Jan. 21 meeting). <br />Motion was made to take Waxman's Carpet Warehouse Signs off the <br />table. Moved to disapprove with the following notes: that items <br />were requested from the Building Department to be submitted to <br />the Board these were not submitted, thus the original application <br />was tabled. No action was taken because: a) an apparent overage <br />on the square footage of the signs due to the signs p ainted on <br />the windows, b) flags for the grand opening and grand continuous <br />sale presently extending over City property, and c) the parking <br />of trucks with painted signs within the 7 foot set back line <br />and within the school crossing zone. <br />V. UNFINISIiED BUSINESS : <br />Taco Villa (Sparky Building Co.), Sparkey La. and Brookpark Ext. <br />Resubmittal from April 16, 1979a Mr. Pat McGinty and Mr. J. <br />Hetvick explained the plans. D. Williams stated that the entire <br />landscape plan should be restudied especially with a view to <br />maximum growth: The Northern Red Oak gets to be about 150" high <br />the Japanese Maple will grow to about 12' around which will block <br />entrances and exits, and should be removed. There are far too <br />many reds in the plan which would clash with the other colors <br />in the building and signage. He suggested that all the reds
