I ?
{
BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS DECEMBER 3, 1980 PAGE 3
8. Yong H. Jung (Impact Signs), 25566 Lorain Rd.
Request for variance (1133.13). Request variance to replace face on
existing non-conforming (location) pole sign. Violation of Ord.
62-33, Section 1221.06 F-4.
Chairman Ledvina called all interested parties before the Board. -The
oath was administered. Bill Aftora of Impact signs stated that this
was for a new business. C. Remmel moved to reject the variance,
seconded by E. DeVoto, and unanimously approved. Request denied.
9. Northeast Appliance & Audio (Boyer Sign Co.), 4608 Great Northern Blvd.
Withdrawn by Building Department; sign illegally installed.
At this point Building Commissioner Gundy requested an interpretation
from the Board on non-conforming signs dealing with altering, moving,
and maintaining said signs. He is now questioning if changing the face of a sign is in violation of Section _1231.03 D, Non-Conforming ?
Signs, and also Section 1125.04. The Board discussed these Sections. ?
E. DeVoto moved that the ruling of the Board of Zoning Appeals is
that a replacement of a face on a sign by the existing user will be
construed to be in the'nature of a repair and will not be considered
subject to a variance; the replacement of a face by a new user will
be considered a change to the structure of the sign, and will be
subject to the provisions of the Ordinance, seconded by L. Horvath,
and unanimously approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
.. ?
D. Ledvina, Chainnan B. Oring,
rding Secretary
