ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Bugala called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: B. Gorris, T. Morgan, R. Perla, J. Roberts, J. Brown and <br />R. Bugala. <br />Absent: J. Prokasy . <br />Also Present: Biiilding Commissioner E. Gundy, Assistant Law Director <br />D. Ryan, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott; Council- <br />man R. Wilamosky, Councilxvoman Y. Petrigac and Recording <br />Secretary B. 0 ringo <br />II, REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />T. Morgan moved to approve the Minutes of P4arch 25, 1980 as submitted, <br />seconded by J. Roberts, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />10 Min ute Lubrication Center, Lorain and Bailey Roads. <br />Building Commissioner Gundy introduced Ian Cushenam who explained the <br />alteration to the former Ajax Brake Service Building. This will be <br />a drive-thru lubrication center, with both the entrance and exit off <br />Lorain Rd. A glass overhead garage door will be installed on the front <br />of the building, and the building will be painted all white with Black <br />trim. The existing driveway will be used, and the waste oil storage <br />tanks will be below ground. Mre Cushenam requested that since they were <br />b asically restoring the building to its original appearance that this <br />plan be approved by Planning Commission and be sent directly to Council. <br />A neighbor, Mr. Cooney, stated that they had had numerous problems with <br />the previous operation, working late at night or early a.m., water <br />drainage p robems, trash pick up at 4 a.m. and a damaged fence. They <br />were assured by Mr. Cushenam that business would be conducted during <br />business hours only (approximately 8 a.m. to 6-8 p.m.), no work would <br />be done outside, no cars would be parked outside, only a small compressor <br />would be used and only inside, th@ building, and that after he signs the <br />lease it would be his responsibility to repair the fence. J. Roberts <br />moved to approve the plans for the 10 Minute Lubrication Center and <br />sent them directly to Coim cil, seconded by T. Morgan. Roll Call on <br />motion: Messrs. Roberts and Morgan, aye, B. Gorris, R. Perla, J. Brown, <br />and R. Bugala, nay. Motion failed to pass. B. Gorris moved to refer <br />the 10 Minute Lub rication Center plans to the Architectural Board of <br />Review, seconded by J. Brown, and unanimously approved.
