<br />? -? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMrffSSION <br />MINUTES - MAY 13, 1980 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Bugala called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Preserit: B. Gorris, T. Morgan, R. Perla, J. Brown, and R. Bugala <br />Absent: J. Roberts and J. Prokasy <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner Gimdy, Assistant City Engineer <br />D. McDermott, Councilman Wilamosky and Recording <br />Secretary B. Oring. <br />Assistant Law Director D. Ryan arrived at 8:30 p.m. <br />Law Director M. Gareau (called out of another meeting <br />for a decision on Friends Church proposal. ) <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Chairman Bugala explained that the statemeft-t on Page 2, the 7th <br />line down, "Dr. Bernstein, the owner, stated that the Architectural <br />Board of Review had suggested that the entrance on Lorain Rd. should <br />be made an exit also...." is incorrect according to Chairman <br />Parry of the Architectural Board of Reviews That Board had made no <br />statement recommending exit and entrance onto Lorain Rd. Chairman <br />Bugala requested that this sentence be deleted from the Minutes of <br />April 22, 1980. Also, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott stated <br />that item c, line 12 "bonded survey" should read boundry survey. <br />J. Brown moved to approve the Minutes of April 22, 1930 as corrected, <br />seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(a) Signs: <br />Hermans Sporting Goods, Great Northern Shopping Center. <br />Dir. Gundy stated that store is.requesting that the -sign be <br />installed on the mansard instead of the area approved by Planning <br />Commission in the original sign criteria and also, the sign is <br />8' longer than allowed. The height meets the criteria. The <br />only_other exception to the criteria is the Uncle Bill`s sign. <br />Mr. R. Bowser, representing Great Northern Shopping Center, <br />stated that the frontage of the store is probably closer to <br />68' than the 60' on.-:which their allotted signage is:based. <br />R.. Perla moved to reject the Herman's Sproting Goods Sign to <br />be installed on the mansard and also, because of its length, <br />according to the information available, is beyond the maximum <br />allowed, seconded by T.
