PLANNING C024MII SSION MAY 13, 1980 PAGE 2 Leah Nowlan, executrix of the Estate of Margaret Brown, 5676 Allendale, advised Planning Commission that a suit: had been filed to appeal the decision of_the Board of Zoning Ap= peals to grant the special permit, and she questioned if it was proper for Planning Commission to hear the proposal. Since neither the Law Director nor the Assistant Law Director were present at this time, R..Bugala moved to defer the North Olmsted Friends Church Proposal until a member of the Law Department is present, seconded by T. Morgan, an d unanimously approved. (c) Fotomat, 23100 Lorain Rd. ' Proposal to construct Fotomat booth in Rini's Supermarkee Parking Lotm Mr. Gundy explained that the proposal and the remai.ning parking area still meets. all codes. It was explained by Mr. Gaydos, Fotomat's representative, th at according to their survey about 7 cars per hour used the facilities, and many of those will be Rini's customers. The.neighbors objected to the additional traffic and stated that they had enough problems with the store without having another establishment doing business in the parking lot. They also pointed out that another shopping center was proposed on the opposite corner of W. 231 and Lorain including a bank with a drive-in windaw. B. Gorris moved to refer the Fotomat Proposal to the Architectural Board of Review, seconded by J. Brown9 and.unanimously approyed. (b) Idorth Olmsted Friends Church, Recalled: the Law Director is present. Law Director M. Gareau advised that _ the_ City has received nothing as yet from the Court and that the case could be heard at this time. Mr. Dale Brady9 trustee of the church, introduced the plans and Building Commissioner Gundy explained the request. J. Brown read the minutes of the Board of Zoning Appeals of Ap ril 2, .1980 which granted the special permit. Mr. Brady explained that they needed this storage garage and that there was no place to add to the present structure. This garage.will be architecturally compatible with the church, and that there are other shed in the neighborhood. The interested neighbors were called before the Commission. Miss Nowlan, executrix of the.property at . 5676 Allendale, her mother Mrs. Knighton, co-owner of the property, Mrs. Strai.ger, 5660 Allendale, spoke against the , proposal. Miss Nowlan explained.that the site plan is a dis- tortion since there•.is more property than shown(7 acres) and that this shed could be placed elsewhere, preferably a structure . attached to the proposed.addition. Mrs. Knighton stated that she was given an estimate of $1,100 for landscaping in order to screen her property from. the church lot and proposed garage. She feels the Church's landscaping is inadequate. Mr. Brady stated that they intend to do more landscaping at a later date. R. Perla moved to refer the North Olmsted Friends Church Storage
