Davis, Architects, represented Manor Care. <br />This is a 300 square foot, one story lounge addition to be <br />constructed off the entrance hall. The exterior will match <br />the existing building. Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott <br />stated that this would not affect the drainage. The neighboring <br />residents viewed the plans and had no objections. R. Perla <br />moved to refer the Manor Care Nursing_Home addition to the <br />Architectural Board of Review, seconded by J. Roberts, and <br />unani.mously approved. <br />(d) Great Northern Shopping Center, Country Club Blvd. & Great <br />Northern Bivd. 'Building Commissioner Gundy explained the proposal for the <br />landscape structure and sign. Part of the property where <br />this will be located is public right-of-way and part is <br />owned by Sears. Mr. Phil Barns of-Great Northern explained <br />that this proposal was part of a landscape plan to screen <br />some of the parking area and will be maintained by the <br />Shopping Centere The wall will be faced with two shades of <br />granite, will vary in height, and will be lighted by ground <br />lights. The standard lettering of the sign is about 20" <br />in height and the capital letters are about 4'. Representatives <br />of May Co. and Sears agree that this would be an asset to the <br />entire shopping'center and North Olmsted. The Safety Director <br />had advised Chairman Bugala.that there were no site problems <br />or traffic hazzards with this plan. Because of change of <br />ownership many plans have been delayed, but the Developers <br />would -like to have tfiis proposal constructed before_ the <br />opening of 1480 on December 11, 1980. It was agreed that the . <br />plans could be approved without being heard by the Architec- <br />tural Board of Review for approval by Council. R. Bugala <br />moved that the Planning Commission approve the landscape <br />and wall structure for the Great Northern Mall to Council with <br />the notation that the signage has not been reviewed by the <br />Architectural Board of Review, seconded by R.
