The contractor explained that with the addition <br />there would still be 31' 6" between houses, and that the fir trees would <br />not be taken down. After some discussion Mr. Remmel to grant a reduced <br />variance of 1' 4", seconded by Mr. Fairfield, and unanimously approved. <br />Reduced variance granted. 15. Neil T. and Jeanne Van Uum, 23857 Mastick Rdo - Request for variance (1133.13). <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request to subdivide resident property. <br />Violation of Ord. 62-33, section 1157.01 (frontage) and section 1159.01 <br />(70 ft. maximum_ set back). Previous variances granted by Board. of Zoning <br />Appeals Nov. 2, 1977. <br />Chairman Ledvina called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered. A letter was read from City Engineer R. Zurawski objecting <br />to the variance on the basis that adequate safety .protection and other <br />mtmicipal services could not be provided for the back lots. In rebuttal, <br />Mr. Van Utnn stated that on December 28, 1972, the Fire Department had re- <br />sponded to a call and their largest tandem had been able to get to the <br />back lot, and that all rubbish is carried out to Mastic Road. Discussion <br />ensued. Mr. DeVoto moved to grant the variances, seconded by Mr. Horvath. <br />Roll call on motion: Mr. DeVoto, aye, Messrs. Horvath, Ledvina, Fairfield, <br />and Remmel, nay. Request deniedo <br />16. Shore West Construction, 24450 Ldoodside Dr. Sublot 2. - Request for variance <br />(1133.13). Request 4' rear yard varianceo Violation of Ord. 62-33, section <br />1163.01. <br />Chairman Ledvina called all interested parties before the Board. The <br />oath was administered. Mr. and Mrs. Mersing, neighbors, were present to study <br />th.e plans and object to the variance. Tlie proposal was discussed. Mr. Remmel <br />moved to grant the variance, seconded by Mr. Horvath. Roll call on motion: <br />Messrs, Remmel, Horvath, Ledvina and DeVoto, yea, Mr. Fairfield, nay, <br />Variance. Granted. <br />,?iMro Fairfield, who is running for council, tended his resignation effective <br />,rune 19 79. <br />Because the next meeting date is July 4th, it was decided to meet July 11, <br />instead. . <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m. <br />c <br />D.
