f r <br />1 <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />.IANUARY 3, 1979 <br />BOA.RD OF ZONIIdG APPEALS <br />Prior to the meeting Law Director Gareau administered the oath of <br />office to Mr. Ledvina who had been reappointed for another term <br />on the Board of Zoning Appeals. <br />Chairman Ledvina:called the meeting to order at 740p.m. <br />Present: Cnairman Ledvina, Mr. Fairfield, Mr. Horvath, Mr. Ret*unel, <br />and Mr. DeVoto arrived at 7:45p,m. <br />Also Present: La-o Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner E. Gundy, <br />Councilman R. Wilamosky, Cduncilwoman Y. Petrigac and <br />Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />Mr. Remmel made a motion to approve the minutes of December 6, 1978 <br />as submitted, seconded by Mr. Horvath, motion passed. <br />Chairman Ledvina declared nominations were in order to elect officers <br />of the Board for the year of 1979, as prescribed in Ordinance #62-33, <br />Section 1133.02. <br />L. iiorvath nominated Mr. Ledvina for Chairman. The nomination was <br />seconded by Mr. Remmel. There were no other nominations for Chairman. <br />D. Ledvina was elected unanimously for Chai rman. <br />2•ir. Fairfield nominated Mr. Remmel as Vice-chairman, seconded by <br />Mr. DeVoto. There were no other nominations for Vice-chairman. Mr. <br />Remmel was elected Vice-chairman unanimously. <br />1. Nlidas 24uffler Shop, 28820 Lorain Rd. Request for variance (1133.13). <br />Request to exceed maximum area permitted for pole sign. Violation <br />of Ord. 62-33 Section 1225.02 (2). Mr. Ledvina requested the <br />applicant and all other interested persons to assemble before the <br />board. Mr. Occhionero, Attorney for Midas Muffler and Mr. Amstadt, <br />President of Midas in Cuyahoga County, Councilman R. iJilmosky. <br />Midas is requesting a 86 sq. ft, sign which is the company's <br />standard sign. Mr. Occhionero pointed out that the sign :aas in <br />two parts on the same pole, the Midas Muffler oval with the Muffler <br />Shop arrow below. Discussion ensued. Mr. DeVoto made a motion <br />that the request be deniedo Mr-. Fairfield-seconded. ttie -motion: <br />Mr. Occhionero asked the.board if tie could ammend his request <br />and remove the Muffler Shop arrow portion of the sign and ask <br />just for a 7 sq. ft. variance for the Midas oval -,ahich is <br />57.06 sq, ft. Mr. DeVoto withdrew his motion. Discussion ensued. <br />Mr. Fairfield moved to deny the amended request for a 7 sq. foot <br />variance, seconded by Mr. Remmel.
