ROLL CALL: Vice-Chairman Ryan called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: D. Ryan, J. Roberts, W. Ohman, B. Gorris and J. Prokasy <br />arrives at 8:10 p.m. <br />Absent: R. Bugala, and J. Brown <br />Also present: Building Commissioner Gundy, Law Director M. Gareau, <br />Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, Coimcilwoman <br />J. Saringer and Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />B. Gorris moved to accept the minutes of May 8, 1979 as submitted, <br />seconded by W. Ohman and imanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(b) Anthony Dindia9 proposal to construct retail business stores <br />on the northwest corner of West 231st St. and Lorain Road <br />(Permanent Parcel 231-16-12 and 231-16-13). Building Commis- <br />sioner Gimdy introduced Mr. Dindia and John Tatikus who presented <br />the plans. Mr. Gundy explained that off street parking is <br />sufficient, the building conforms to the zoning ordinance, and <br />that the total area is 11,500 sq. ft. which is to be used for <br />retail stores and a bank with auto teller tmits. D. McDermott <br />explained that the property must be combined into one sublot <br />before final approval can be given by the Planning Commission. <br />The neighbors were invited to step forward and view the plans. <br />Mrs. Gladish, the owner of the property abutting the proposed <br />development, questioned the buffer zone, landscaping plan, and <br />lighting. It was explained that these plans would be available <br />for the Architectural Board of Review meeting and the outside <br />lighting would be by the Illuminating Co. Mrs. Gladish also <br />questioned the access drive that enters on a residential <br />street. Law Director M. Gareau stated that there was no pro- . <br />blem with the drive as long as the drive itself was on com- <br />mercial property. Mrs. Gladish also expressed concern about <br />water drainage since this development is built on quick sand <br />and there is a creek running through the area and she was <br />advised that the plans would be referred to the Engineering <br />Department, and that that department would see to it that the <br />developer would take care of the water problem so thaf no <br />additional water would drain onto adjacent properties. The <br />neighbors were concerned about traffic problems because of this <br />development and the as yet unopened A & P Store on the north- <br />.east corner of West 231 St and Lorain Road.
