i? <br />r' <br />, <br />PLANNING C014MffSSION - OCTOBER 23, 1979 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Lorain Road from Wedgewood Road to the North Ridgeville Line, to change <br />the zoning from "industrial" to "motorists service" zoningo Chairman <br />Bugala suggested that since the Commission had no information on the <br />effects of such rezoning that he would like to have Mr. Gorris study <br />the proposal. J. Roberts moved that the proposed rezoning request be <br />placed in Conunittee and ask Regional Planning for their evaluation of <br />the proposed change, seconded by J. Prokasy, and unanimously approved. <br />J. Prokasy volunteered to assist Mr. Gorris with the Stud.y. <br />Ord. 79-31: Changing height of fences from 4' to 5'. Previously ap- <br />proved by Planning Commission on Juiie 26, 1979, but later fence height <br />was amended to 4' by Council, and is now back before Planning Com- <br />mission because Council has now amended the fence height again to 5t <br />J. Prokasy moved to approve Ord. 79-81 as submitted, seconded by J. <br />Brown, and unanimously app roved. <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Ord. 79-118: Vacation. of Northern Ave. B. Gorris r.ioved to take Ord. <br />79-118 out of Committee, seconded by J. Roberts. Roll Call on motion: <br />R. Bugala, B. Gorris, J. Roberts, J. Brown, J. Prokasy, aye. Mr. <br />Perla abstained. Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott advised that <br />he had been in contact with three neighbors of the area who had signed <br />the petition and they were under the impression that the area to be <br />vacated extended from Decker to Burns not just the segment described <br />in the Ordinance. There were neighbors present who also agreed that <br />they had wanted the entire undeveloped street vacated. The Engineering <br />Department-has no plans to develop--the- street.. The portion -of the <br />street from Burns east to -the Junior High School is being used as a <br />walk-way to the school and should be considered separately. Council- <br />man Wilamosky advised that he had requested that the legislation be <br />retained in committee until the're- is clarification as to the intent of <br />the petition.. J. Prokasy moved to approve Ord. 79-118 with a recomnen- <br />dation to City Council that the Ordinance be amended by Council to in- <br />clude a vacation of Northern from Burns Road to_ Decker Ave., seconded <br />by J. Roberts. Roll call on motion: Prokasy, Roberts, Gorris, Brown <br />and Bugala9 aye. Mr. Perla abstained. <br />VIII. COMMLTTEE REPORTS: <br />Siga Committee: Chairman Bugala attended the Long•Range Planning Commi- <br />tee. He advised that they reviewed the areas of the Sign Ordinance <br />that needed changing, and that on Nov. 12 they would meet and each <br />give his concep t of how the Ordinance should be change d. <br />IX.
