I
PLANNING COMMISSION DECEMBER 12. 1978 PACE 2
the traffic congestion completely. The plans for relocated 252 were studied.
Discussion ensuedo Mr. Gertsma assured the Commission that his final
plans would be such that he would need no variance:;for a 1-Z story
barn on the property which is now not conforming to the rear lot lines.
Mr. Bugala moved to accept the preliminary Gertsma Subdivision proposal
with-the understanding that the lot line concerning the 1-?'story
concrete block barn be corrected and following ordinance and that the
Commission recommends that the City Engineering.Department.write the
State about the completion of 252 extension. Seconded by W. Ohman
and unanimously approved, Mr. Roberts asked Recording Secretary Oring
to write the Engineering Department to do all possible to expedite
construction of relocated 252.
III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS:
Mr. Gundy, Building Commissioner, introduced the Romp Brothers'; request
to construct a three story office building at 24579 Lorain Rd. where
their Farm Market and Dairy Queen are now locatedo Pir. Gundy dis- tributed the plans and explained that certain variances were granted
by the Board of Zoning appeals at the November 1, 1978 meeting. Mr.
Gundy expleained an error in the number of parking spaces shown on the
plans-: - There will actually-be -327 parking°spa-ce-s-instead of -332°which---
is shown but this number is still in conformity with the code which
requires 314. The variance which was granted was for a setback of the
building and for parking cars in a single residential area. Mr. Prokas_y
observed that since the office building would be open only during the
daytime and thati'the Farm Market and Dairy Queen were busiest in the
evening and on weekends-the traffic style.would be the opnosite from
each other. Romp Brothers also explained that they had slightly re-
dueed the size of the office building by 1,500 to 2,000 sq. ft. A
motion was made by J. Prokasy that the site plan for the office building
of the Romp Brothers be referred to the Architectural Board of Review,
seconded by J. Brown, and unanimously approved.
V.
