le .. ,. <br />4. Edward and Joan Check, 6209 Brighton Drive. Request for variance (1133.13). <br />Request for 6,' fence around a decorative fountain and pond. Violation of <br />ord. 77-128 section (H). ' <br />Chairman Ledvina requested all interested persons to assemble before the <br />Board. The oath was admi.nistered. This request is for a 6' backyard fence <br />in order to protect their pond from neighbors as well as for the safety of <br />children: Mre Remmel observed that there was no requirement under the law <br />that a backyard pond be fenced in with a 6' fence. Mr. Ledvina stated that <br />the only requirement for a 6' fence is that of a swimming pool and anything <br />else is limited to a 4T fence. Mr. Remmel stated that there were no other <br />6' fences in the area. Mr. Remmel moved to reject this request. Mr. Fairfield <br />seconded and motion passed unanimously. Request denied. <br />5. Margaret peterson, 24970 Sunset Oval. Request for variance (1133.13). <br />Request permission-for 6T fence. Violation of Ord. 77-128 section (H) 1& 2. <br />Chairman Ledvina requested all interested persons to come before the Board. <br />The oath was administered. Mrs. Peterson then informed the Board that she <br />wanted to formally amend her request for a 6'_fence to that of a 5' fence. <br />Mr. Ledvina accepted the amendment. Mrs. Peterson stated she wanted this <br />fence in order to keep her dogs inside and the neighborhood children outside. <br />A number of adjacent property.owners came before the Board in objection to <br />this fencee Mr. Remmel moved to reject this request. Mr. DeVoto seconded <br />and motion passed unanimously. Request was denied. <br />6. Robert Schifle, 24261 Mastick Road. Request for special permit to add to <br />a non-conforming dwelling. Special permission required by Ord. 62-33 <br />section 1231.02. <br />Chairman Ledvina requested the applicant and all interested persons to come <br />before the Board. The oath was administered. Applicant is asking permission <br />to add on to his home on the main level, not the basement level. An adjacent <br />property owner, Mr. Webber, came before the Board with some questions about <br />the proposed addition. He wanted to know if the cliff behind the property <br />would be disturbed in any way and Mr. Gundy stated that there would be no <br />disturbance of this cliff whatsoever. Mr. Horvath made a motion to grant <br />this request. Mr. DeVoto seconded and motion passed unanimously. <br />7o Olmsted Park Condominiums, Inc., 4183 Columbia Road. Request for variance <br />(1133.13). Request for additional identification signo Violation of Ord. <br />62-33 section 1225.01 subsection 3. <br />Chairman Ledvina requested the applicant and all interested persons to come <br />before the Board. The oath was administered. Mr. Ledvina stated the ordinance <br />allows only 1 identifying sign and applicant is requesting two. Chairman <br />Ledvina asked if applicant would consider having one sign perpendicular to <br />the street with identification on both sides.Applicant said he would rather <br />have two signs as it would better balance the way the driveway would look. <br />A discussion ensued. Signs would be 5' x 5' square. Mr. Remmel moved to <br />reject this request. Mr. Fairfield seconded and motion passed. Request <br />denied. <br />8. Romp Brothers Development, Inc., 24579 Lorain Roado Request for variance <br />(1133.13). Request for rear yard variance. Violation of Ord. 62-33 <br />section 1174.06. This request is for a proposed office building.
