Old Business <br />10-12-7b <br />- 2 - <br />(a) Jamestomn Village apartments rezoning request - east side of <br />Columbia Rd. north of Brooknark Rd. - 3 parcels (approximate- <br />ly 2 acres) from C single residence district to multiple resi- <br />dence district. <br />I?ir. Margolius came bafore the Commission and reviewed his in- <br />troduction of the request. Messrs. Rafeld, Tischler, and E- <br />vanoff had made on site insnections of the property. PZr. Ra- <br />feld and Mr. Tischler spoke in favor of the rezoning. P?'ir. E- <br />vanoff moved to accept Jamestotan Village Apartments rezoning <br />request to rezone 3 parcels from C residence to multiple resi- <br />dence. Mr. Tischler seconded and motion passed. <br />(b) Gibson Rezoning Request for proposed Tallwood Subdivision - <br />west off Roo-L Rde south of Byron Dr. - approximately 22 acres <br />- from A single residence district to B single residence Dis- <br />trictm <br />Mr. Gibson and Mr. Allen, attornejr, appeared before the Com- <br />missione Niaps were distributed by Mro McDermott. Mro Allen <br />revietaed the request and reviewed the discussion held at last <br />meeting. Idew on the proposal shown by Kr. Gibson and NIr. Al- <br />len vaas 50 ft. roadway to be deeded to the city. It is an <br />access road<<a,y between Sub Lot 54 and `Sub Lot 55. 'Mre Tischler <br />asked what percentage of the acreage is being deeded to the cit.y. <br />Answer is roughly 2 acres i•?r. Rafeld e?.?lained the Ord. pertain- <br />ing to cluster development. NIr. Hughes, Byron Dr. asked what is <br />the feasibility of building A homes on the A lots. Mr. Gibson <br />said there would be 6 fewer homes than if B zoning iaere accorn-o- <br />lished. <br />Councilman Goggin is present for the discussion. krea resi- <br />dents addressing the Commission: Mr. Hughes, A4r. Hogan, Mr. <br />Baker, Mr. Donovan, Mr. O'Dell, s•Ir. Towser and Nx. Kyle and <br />othersa Topics discussed were drainage, safety, school over- <br />Crowding' ecology' ingress and egrees onto Canterburv Rd., deed <br />restrictions. 1"Ir. Krause of Byron rrive approves the plan. iir. <br />Shie also of Byron Dr. asked if owner must be present for re- <br />zoning. PIr. Conrad, Mr. Motique and Mr0 Bahas, also area resi- <br />dents addressed the Commission. After further d.iscussion Nr. <br />Tischler moved to reject the proposed rezoning request for pro- <br />posed Tallvaood Subdivisiona Mr. Rafeld seconded the motion. <br />Durina further discussion Mr. Freeh said action to rezone would <br />be precedent setting; it would be the elimination of A zoning. <br />Mr. tZafeld said there is not much land left; people add to homes <br />and make smaller land areas surrounding their homes.
