T <br />Planning Commission 11-11?75 <br />VII. Committee Reports <br />-5- <br />A4r. Tischler said he would like a meeting with Building, Zoning and De- <br />velopment Committee of Council' the Law Director and all Planning-Com- <br />mission members to resolve problems relating to L-shaped subdivision <br />proposals. ' <br />Meeting was set.for 7:30 pom. Tuesclay, November 25, 1975 before the <br />next regular meeting of Planning Commission. <br />VIII. New Business <br />(a) New Comprehensive Plan Review <br />Chairman Prokasy said the new maps were 3ust recently distributed <br />and Commission members have not had time to study them. It is an <br />entirely new code. Law Director Gareauhad prepared the code and <br />Regional Planning Commission had prepared the mapa . <br />Robert McCarthy, 37107 Bradley Rd,, representing other property <br />owners of Bradley Rd., spoke of a petition submitted one and one- <br />half years ago. Petitioners were seeking to rezone Bradley Road <br />to residential. He said this is the Sth meeting the residents of <br />Bradley Road have attended. He gave the dates. He was told the new <br />map does show change from commercial to residential on Bradley Road; <br />the Bradley Road request has become part of the total plan. The <br />plan has been through two readings of Council. Now Planning Commis- <br />sion will review and perhaps recommend adoption and then return the <br />plan to Council for a third reading and then a public hearing. Ori- <br />ginally Planning Commission was the author-of the New Comprehensive <br />Plan. <br />Mr. Huntington spoke of smoke in the=-room. -He then said he objects <br />to medium rise on the new Comprehensive Plan; said the five to seven <br />stories should be reduced to low rise-in-order to control commerci- <br />alization of Lorain Road. He spoke for the Bretton Ridge Civic As- <br />sociation. <br />Mr. Delmar Ernest said he seconds the recommendation to reduce height <br />of apartments and it includes his property, the section from Elmhurst <br />to Barton Road. Mr. Ernest then read a letter from Metropolitan Park <br />Board. Letter wa's written in 1963 and refers to Ord. 62-183 which <br />ordinance is concerned with -Permanent--.Pa-rze-1s- #233-13-44 and -2-33-9-1. -- - <br />Letter-refers to restrictions on property=abutting Metropolitari Park. <br />There was further discussion of the map,--Barclay Square zoning was <br />mentioned, also the fact that City Line Estates was rezoned to B <br />lots with A homes. Mr. Tischler_.movedtto retain new Comprehensive <br />Plan in committee.. -_Mr._Rober-ts seconded-and motion passed. <br />Mr. Roberts moved -to--excuse-absence of_.-N[r. Rafeld. Mr. Freeh second- <br />ed and motion passed. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
