Klinite, Byers, Greene, Mrs. Fian <br />Also present: Mr. Gundy, Building Commissioner <br />Others as listed under appellants <br />Nlinutes of the January meeting were accepted as submitted. <br />1. Appellant: Z+Varrant Honies, Inc., 4510 Memphis Avenue, Cleveland, 0. <br />Ref: Request for variance (1133.13) regarding parking below ground for <br />proposed high-rise apartments, to be located 600 feet east of Great <br />Northern B1vd., proposed, on Brookpark Road, which would be less <br />than the minimum required in Section 120507 (A) of the Zoning <br />Ordinance, which requires 50% of parking to be in a garage. The <br />proposed parking is for 150 cars, with variance request for space <br />for 62 cars. <br />Mr. Carl Milstein represented GVarrant Homes. Mr. Klinite commented that <br />the apartment itself was in accordance with the ordinances, except for <br />parking. Mr. Milstein said space is available for more than 500 cars, <br />so no on-street parking problems would be created. Councilman Alex <br />Mangani indicated his Uelief that the North Olmsted ordinance, patterned <br />after that of Lakewood, Ohio, was very tight and that Council would <br />restudy it for possible revisiono Mr. Tes Nlacs, formerly of the Plan- <br />ning Commission, statied his belief that the outside parking provided was <br />very ample and desirable. No one expsessed objection to the request. <br />Nro Greene moved to grant the variance to decrease the inside parking <br />requirements from 212 cars to 150 carsm Mr. Byers seconded. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br />2. Appellant: Arby's, Inc., 220 West Rayen Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio. <br />Ref: Reauest for variance (1133a13) to erect a sign with over-all diznen- <br />sions of 201 x 251, rising 421,in conjunction with a proposed <br />restaurant location at the northeast corner of Lorain Road and <br />Silverdale Avenue. , <br />NIr. Leroy Raffel represented ArbyTs, and indicated the sign proposed is <br />standard for his company. Site has not yet been purchased. Mr. Klinite <br />reviewed recent sign size cnanges by Council, and said no approval for <br />sucn laxge signs could be giveno Mr. Raffel indicated his willingness <br />to resubmit plans for a sr?ialler sign. <br />A4r. 13yers rnoved to withdraw the variance for subsequent resubmissionm <br />Mr> Greene seconded. Vote was unanimous. Mx. Raffel said he hoaed to resub- <br />mit for the Board Meeting lviarch 9y 1965. - <br />3. Appellant: Len Derin Dodge Agency and Brilliant Electric Signs, addresses <br />being 26100 Lorain Road, North plmsted, and 4400 Hough Avenue, <br />Cleveland, Ohio, respec'Lively.
