Appellant: Beecnwood Buildersy Inc., 14396 Robert Drive, Cleveland, 0. <br />Ref: Request for variance (1133.13) to build a ranch-type house on sub- <br />lot 18, 3375 Oxford Oval, North Olmsted, which would have a 12' side <br />yard measurement, which is an violation o£ Section 1161.01 of the <br />Zoning Ordinance, which requires fifteen feet side yards. <br />Nir. Tony Stanley represented Beechwood Builders, and indicated the shape <br />of the lot required the variance. There were no objectionse <br />Mr. Byers moved to grant the three-foot side yard variancee Mrs. Eian <br />seconded. Vote was unanimous. <br />7. Appellant: Famous Homesa Inc., 4070 Eastway Road, South Euclid, Ohio. <br />Ref: Request for variances to build homes on Doe Drive and Antler Drive <br />in the Manning-Campbell Subdivision 8, Section 29 which would re- <br />quire rear yard setbacks from nine to thirteen less than the minimum <br />requirement of fifty £eet stgpulated in Section 1163.01 of the Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br />Messrs. Max Kitner and Harold Gumbeiner appeared for Famous Homes. The <br />discussion revealed that previous attempts to sell low-priced homes in <br />the development were unsuccessful, and that higher priced homes seemed to <br />be in greater demand. Mr. Gundy concurred in this. There are eighty- <br />seven (87) lots in question. Mr. Kurt Richards voiced his oUjection to <br />the requesta Mro Gundy said the costlier homes would be a big improve- <br />ment over the homes already in the area. <br />Mx. Greene said he believed the request should be referred to either the <br />Planning Commission or Council £or rezoning to 35 foot front yard setback. <br />Law Director, Mro Bruce Kitchen, was aslced for an opinion. Gundy referred to Zoning <br />Board of Appeals minutes of November 6, 1963, in wnich Beeclawood Builders <br />had a similar request for the Walter-Maple Subdiva.sion, which the Zoniilg <br />Appeals Board subsequentlp requested Council to rezcne from 50 feet to 35 <br />feet setUack building line, and which Counci.l then approved. <br />Mr. Greene then moved to have a letier oi recommendation sent to Council <br />to have the set back changed frorn fifty feet to ichirty-five fe°t building <br />line for the Fainous Homes' Nlanning-Campbell Subdivision 8, Section 2. Nr. <br />Byers secended. At tliis point, NIr. Lou Schmitt, newly sworn in as a Board <br />member, tcok his p1ace vaith the Bearde flll merr.bers voted for tne motion <br />except Mr. Sch?-nitt, who abstainec?. <br />8. Appellant: Mrsa Mary Salkawskyy, 4098 Cla;ue Road, North Olrns'ced, Ohio. <br />Re£: Request for variance (1133.13) to coiavert an existing chzcken coop <br />into a residential dtivelling, wliich is in violation of Sections <br />1157.01 and 1159.01 of the Zonina Ordina?zce, which restrict the <br />numUer oi dwellings per lot to one, and the maximum setback from tne <br />street to 70 f eet, respectively. <br />A7rs.
