He then
read from a letter from the City Planning Committee, dated February 23, 1965
in which that Committee recommended, rather than change the entire plat to a
35 foot setback building line, that the builder, Famous Homes, Inc., resubmit
the lots for re-subdivision, and if the builder needs a front or rear set-
back change, Council should require wider side yard setbacks to compensates
R4ro Klinite then asked the Board members to consider Mayor Christman's
request that the Board meet on another night of the month, preferably the
first INednesday, for the convenience of Councilmen and other members of the
City Administration to be able to attend the meetings.
Mr. KliniLe then expressed the Board's appreciation to the City Aclminis-
tration for the brief cases presented to each Board member recently.
1. First request denied February 16, 1965.
Mr. Greider and Mr. Derin appeared for the appellantsa All of the four
Councilmen present expressed opposition to the sign during the hour-long
discussion. Mr. Ray Helt, affected property owner on Lorain Road, again
expressed his opposition. Mr. Kurt Richards, 5176 Wesi; Park Drive, again
expressed his opposition. Mr. u?alter Guesterman, National City Bank
Manager, Lorain Road, supported the request for the large sign. After
much discussion, largely a repeti-tion of the February meeting, the gen-
eral agreement was reached to remove two 51 x 129 panels from the sign,
and reduce the height of tile supportso
Mr. Greene moved to grant the variance for the sign on the basis of 85
square feet of area, including the Pentastar, and that the height of the
Gign be no greater than 31' 61' to the top of the pentastar, Mr. Byers
econded. iTote to approve was unanimous.
