Simmons <br />stated that the majority of the people in the areas aff ected were <br />against this groposal. <br />NIr. . Bert P1ain, 28900 -Lorain Road, f elt that he was sure that this ?: ?.::: <br />propasal ivonldsuoitbeotb:Ithe beniYfit of the people and property owners <br />on Lorain Road or in the City. He also pointed out the f act that Lorain <br />Road is a state highway and has excessive amounts of traffic. <br />Delmer Ernest, 30106 Lorain Road, stated that he thouoht that Reoional <br />Flanning had originally been in favor of the general retail zoning. <br />Irwin L. Seidel, 30940 Lorain Road, wanted to know tahy this proposal <br />had been made Gnd caho had made it. <br />Mr. Bump, 30339 Lorain Road, felt that this would be stopping progress. <br />Mrs. Diehr, 25195 Lorain Road, felt that Lorain Road is now, a1ways has <br />been, and always wi11 Ue the main road into C1eveland and f elt that by <br />having this zoned commercial and having businesses here it would be <br />keeping the taxes doti:m. <br />J. B. Henderson, 25149 Lorain Road, felt that this caould be the only <br />resid&ntial street leading from the turnpilce <br />Mr, Stepehen Sidorak, 30650 Lorain Road, felt that with the industrial <br />area as it is located, there -was a need for more businesses in the area. <br />C. F. Archer, 29794 Lorain Road, felt that the City Planning Commission <br />felt that a mistake had been made when this caas originally zoned and <br />they were now trying to rectify it. <br />Florence Bump, 30330 Lorain Road, f e1t 'chat to have business on Lorain <br />Roac1 caould give the residents ancl children of this area a chance to work <br />in -their oz,m community and not have to 00 ou?tside PTorth 0lmsted fo?c a <br />job. <br />Mrs. DeNova, 23205 Lorain Road, stated that she had pu-rchased property <br />on Zorain Road fo-r the purpose of building a commercial building and <br />z•aould be opposed to the proposed rezoning. <br />Mr. Vito Picione, 20374 Lorain Road, f el'c that this would be a detri- <br />ment to the growtLl of the City to rezone Lorain Road and he also ielt <br />that it should Ue done with restrictions as to each type of business <br />and not by rezoning. <br />Harry Geiger, 23475 Lorain Road, felt that it wou1d not be fair to <br />alread;T exis-L-ing businesses r_ot -to be able to expect more. businesses <br />along Lorain Road. <br />Franlc NMastny, 29756 Lorai-Li Road, ??Tanted to know what would happen to <br />the people who had already purchased land f or proPosed commercial es- <br />tablishi!ients if the proposEd zoning catne about. <br />Mr. Archer, 29794 Lorain Road, felt that if it was rezoned he should <br />get'the taxes he has been paying for commercial property returned to <br />him. <br />Itr. Gates, proPerty of,nler on Lorain Road, aslced what Great Northern <br />Blvd. was to be zoned and was advised that it was zoned commerci a1. <br />Mrs. Joseph Simmons, 29603 Lorain Road, felt -that Lorain Road should <br />be 1ef t zoned this way and Great Northern B1vc1, should be rezoned to <br />residential. She a1so stated that she and many residents of t11e area <br />f elt that North 0lmsted should be rcna?ed Biskindville.
