Minutes of July 27, 1965 <br />-5- <br />yiichael Hoderriarsl,y, 28641 Lorain Road, wanted to know why this had <br />been proposed. <br />NSr. Musial then referred back to the minutes of April 20, 1965. <br />Mr. Ficione felt that the City was sAayed by Mr. Bisl;.ind. <br />Another resident stated that the Commissi on should loolc further into <br />the future than 1 or 2 years. <br />Mr. Sirmnons wanted to know why Uetween Columbia and Roo-t Road Evas <br />proposed to be zoned apartments. <br />T-irs. Edleman, 24834 Lorain Road, wanted to know when the sewers taere <br />going to be pu-t in in the area in whicYi she lives. <br />Ruth Ernest, 30106 Lorain Road, stated that a real estate man wanted <br />to buy her neighborTs property as residential and advised her that it <br />had. been rezoned as such. <br />Mrs.Restivo, 29247 Lorain Road, f e1t that if this was rezoned residential <br />she tiiould Ue stuck with her property which she had purchased zor a <br />commercial purpose. <br />IvIrs. Margaret 5chwab, 29509 Lorain Road, wanted to ?rnoTv what wou1d <br />happen iz she iaanted to se11 her property as commercial. <br />NIr. John Udest, Cola.ncilman, statecl that Council appreciates the comments <br />of the residents of the area and stated that no action was talcen on the <br />matter exceptina that it was referred back to the Commission to make a <br />surcey. He also Poin.ted out that the nroposed commercially zon.ed part <br />of Great bIorthe'rn Blvd. does not belong to Mr. Bislcind and chis has not <br />been decided yet either. <br />IvIrs. Diehr taanted to know when Grett Northern B1vd, would come througtz. <br />Other comments were made by residents ?.nd mEmbers ot the Commission. <br />R1r. A11en, 30338 Zorain Road,wanted to know if the extension of Bassett <br />Road into Lorain Road was considered before this In7oposal was made. <br />N:Ir. Jessett, 28364 Lorain Road, wanted to know how the safety factor <br />would be affected if this was -rezoned as the trai'fic wou1d remain the <br />same. <br />Mr. I+iusial stated that in the past the Flanning Commission was a pasHve <br />Planning Commission and the presen•t commission fe1t that -there were?.-imany <br />changes needed. One such change would be the proposed rezoning of <br />Lorain Road and another taas aMaster P1an for the CitSr of North 0lmsted. <br />Nr. Frokasy thanked i.he residents present for their comments and closed <br />the public discussion on this matter. <br />It was moved by hir. Musial, seconcled by Mr. Fabek, that the repor•t that <br />was read earlier in the meeting be approved and submitted to Council <br />aloncr with the petitions submitted at the meeting tonight. YLAS Musial, <br />Pabeh, Spalding, LaPonza, Prokasy, Ford, Lsgar. <br />NTr. Sgalding anc PIr. Nlusia1 felt that klr. Simmons did a good job in get- <br />fiing the petitions, <br />Mr. Spalding also f elt that one of the basic things to be decided would <br />be eihether or not there is too much presently zoned m mmercial property. <br />LOT FRONTAGES <br />The committee on 1ot zrontages made the follot:Ting recommended change <br />in the ordinance as pertains to 1ot fzontages:
