Board of Zoning Appeals, December 7, 1966 <br />Page 4. <br />Appellant: Great Northern Motor8, Inc., 26890 Lorain Road, North Ulmsted. <br />Request for variance to erect a sign which exceeds maximum <br />height and maximum footage allowed by Code. Request is in <br />violation of #62-33, Section 1225.02. <br />Mr. Norman Kyman, president of Great Northern I-lotors was present, also Mr. <br />Fihitehorn representing Ford Motors. Mr. Whitehorn explained Ford was trying <br />to create a new sign program to eliminate the neon sign jungle. He showed <br />photographs to illustrate his plans. Mr. Greene recalled that Mr. Kyman <br />had•received a variance grant on October 5, 1966 of 52 extra square feet <br />to come up to other dealers in the area and that if he increased this amount, <br />to 119 as they proposed, they would be beyond the other agencies. <br />Mr. Ackerer, 26996 Lorain Road, appeared and objected to the signs Mr. Kyman <br />already had including the brioht lights on poles recently installeda Upon <br />hearing this, Mr. Kyman withdrew his request for variance. <br />Mr. Greene returned to the Bretton Ridge request for variance. There were <br />no representatives present for this group. Mr. Nelson made a motion to deny <br />this request. Second by Mr. Scheeff.
