Y <br />.' Page 3- Minutes of Board of Zoning Appeals - November 1, 1967 <br />Present: Mr. Lynch, Mr. Fiaher (Architect) <br />Mr. Fisher presented plans for the pr.oposed add.ition. Mr. Lynch explained tha,t <br />his famil,y needed the additional space that the proposed addition would provide <br />and that he had talked to his neighbors and that they had no objection. Mr. Nelson <br />moved to grant a 13' rear yard variance; seconded by Mrs. Eian and passed. <br />10 and 11. Appellants« Robert Romp - Request to construct an addition and to alter <br />present Danny Boy Farm Market, 24579 Lorain Road. <br />Arthur Romp - Request to construct an addition and to alter <br />present Dairv Queen, 24579 Lorain Road. <br />Requests are in violation of Ordinance #62-33Y Section <br />1174.02 which requires a buiZding setback in a retail <br />business district to be at Ieas-t 501 and Section 1231.02 <br />which states that a nonconforms.ng building sha.Il not be <br />altered, added to or enlarged unless the additions and <br />original building are made to conform to the yard, coverage <br />and height regulations of the district in which it is located. <br />Present: Robert Romp, Arthur Romp, Dan Rornp, Mrs. Austin, her d.aughter and son-in-law <br />It was explainecl that Robert Romp had previously been grantecl a 351.var.iance but <br />that he now wishes to build a new building instead of enlarging the existing structure. <br />A& P has an eaBement on the propert?r,.- for a drive to Columbia Road. Both the presen•t Danny Boy and present Dairy Queen wi1:I be demolished and two new buildings <br />would be erected 301 from the street. There would be no drivewa.y between buildings; <br />buildings would be connected by beams (open to the sky) forming a.mal.I type area. <br />There would be absolutel,y no parking in front of the buildings - aIl parking would <br />be to the rear and at the east sicle of Daixy pueen structure. Mrs. Austin's son <br />in-7aw auestioned appellants as to distance from their house, etc. He brought up <br />the question of.burning rubbish in rear of property. It was explained.Yry Mr. R.omp <br />that both an incinerator and ga.-rbage disposal would be installed in the new Danny <br />Eoy Market for the use'of both Danny Boy and Dairy Queen. Mr. Roberts moved to <br />grant a 20' variance to Danny Boy wit,h the rea,uest that the 5afety Director assist <br />in the placing of d.riveways and entrancewa.ys from Columbia and Lorain Roads and <br />wi.th the recommenaation that an adequate incinerator be placed on said. premises; <br />seconded by Mr. Nelson and passed. Mr. Nelson moved to grant a 201 variance to <br />Dairy Queen9 seconded by Mrs. Eian and paSSed. <br />A special meeting was set up for Thursday November 16, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. <br />The meeting -was adjourned at 10:20 P.M. <br />4Tilliam J.
