CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED - BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />Second Regular Meeting Held at City Hall for Month of May 1967 <br />May 18,1967 <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mr. William Greene, Chairman <br />Members Present: Mrs. Eian, Messrs, Greene, Nelson, Roberts <br />Also present: Mr. E. Gundy, Building Cbmmissioner <br />1 Appellant: Kenneth R. Williams, 24000 Amesbury Dr., No.Olmsted,0. <br />Request for variance to erect a five foot high fence <br />to enclose rear yard. Request is in violation of <br />Zoning Ord. #1151.04 (H), fence not lto exceed four <br />feet in height. <br />Mr. Williams stated because he had a German Sheppard Dog he wanted to <br />enclose his rear yard, because of size of dog required a higher fence. <br />Mr. R. 0'Brien, adjacent neighbor objected to the type and height of <br />fence as he felt it would detract from the neighborhood rear yard open <br />areas. <br />Mr. Nelson made motion to grant the variance, seconded by Mr. Roberts. <br />Vote 1 nay, 3 yeas, passed. , <br />2 Appellant: Jerry C. Smith, 4215 Porter Rd., No. Olmsted,0. <br />Request to build an attached garage to existing <br />dwelling, total sidelines will be 13', variance <br />of 2' sidelines is requested. <br />Request in violation of Ord. #62-33 Section 1161.01, <br />which requires dwelling with attached garage have <br />total sidelines of 15', minimum width on one side not less <br />than 51. <br />Mr. Smith stated because of the odd shape of the lot and as dwelling <br />is rected at an angle to the property lines, it is impossible to erect <br />the attached garage as required and maintain sidelines. <br />Mr. Hall, adjacent neighbor stated he had no objection to this variance. <br />Mr. Roberts moved variance be granted, seconded by M r. Nelson, Unanimously passed. <br />3. Appellant: Marjak Development Co., 1350 W. 3rd St. <br />Request to erect sign in excess of size permitted for Topps <br />Department Store, Great Northern B1vd.,No,Olmsted. <br />Request is in violation of Ord. #62-33, Sect. 1225.02 (E) 4&(F). <br />Mr. Freidel, representative for Marjak Dev. Co., stated because sign would be <br />11' lower than Lorain Rd;, grade and 4' lower than Brookpark Rd. grade, and <br />will be located 800' from Lorain Rd., and 950' from Brookpark Rd., will require <br />this height sign in order for it to be seen from the road, this is typical sign <br />for a11 Topps stores. Require 25' height variance and 1308quare footage variance.
