Page 2 Minutes Zoning Board of Appeals - May 18,1967 <br />Councilman John West requested the Board members to keep in mind that this is <br />the first request for variance in this proposed shopping center and would be <br />a precedent for other requests, and he wanted to go on record recommending <br />rejection of variance requested. <br />Mrs. Eian inquired regarding height of proposed face sign. Mr. Friedel <br />advised sign on face of store approx. 22' higher than grade. Mr. Friedel <br />requested continuance of appeal until next meeting at vhich time he would <br />bring in additional data regarding signs proposed. <br />Moved to continue case at next meeting of the Board June 7,1967. Unanimously <br />passed. <br />4. Appellant: William G. Weisbarth, 23130 Alexander Rd., No.Olmsted,0. <br />Request for variance to build an addition to rear of <br />existing dwelling. Proposed addition to be 14'6" from <br />adjacent neighbors detached garage. <br />In violation of Ord. #62-33 Section 1151.04 (c) which <br />requires dwelling must be 20' from detached garage on the <br />same 1ot or any adjacent lot. <br />Mr. Weisbarth stated he built home 10 years ago and planned at sometime <br />to add a family room and tried to conform to existing codes, but had no <br />control over the placement of his neighbors detached garage. <br />Adjacent neighbor Hubert J. Schaefer, signed written statement he had <br />no objection to this addition. <br />Motion by Mrs. Eian to grant variance, seconded by Mr. Nelson. Unanimously <br />passed. . <br />5. Appellant: Robbins homes improvement Co. 6501 Lorain Rd. Cleveland,0. <br />Request for variance to build a porch roof over existing <br />, concrete patio base for Dr. Michael DeCarlo, 24645 Mitchell <br />Dr. , No. Olmsted. Request is for 11' rear yard variance. <br />Request is in violation of Ord. #62-33, Section 1163.01, <br />which requires a 50' rear yard depth. <br />Dr. Michael DeCarlo and Mr. Jim Papp rep.resenting Robbins Homes Improv. <br />Co, appeared before the Board. Mrs. Forsman a neighbor stated she had <br />no objection to variance requested. <br />Moved by Mr. Nelson and seconded by Mr. Roberts that variance be granted, <br />Unanimously passed. <br />6. Appellant Carpenter Homes,Inc. 33474 Center Ridge Rd., No. Ridgevi11e,0. <br />Request for variance to build a dwelling on S/L 397 and 2 <br />S/L 398 Decker Rd. Request for rear yard variance of 16'. <br />Request is in violation of Ord. #62-33, Section 1163.01 <br />which requires 50' rear yard depth. <br />Mr. Carpenter stated he had talked to Mr. Andrews and Mr. DeFrank, adjacent <br />property owners and they had no objection.
