Fdwaxd Brewer, Mr. <br />Ledvina moved_ to excuse 11,7r. Plelson and Mz o Brewer; seconded by Mr. Byers <br />and unanimousl;T passed. Also presento Mr, R.ansberry, Assistant to Acting <br />City Engineer9 Sally Henkle, Secretaxy, <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman James Leonard. <br />Those present were iKssrs. LeonarG9 Ja.mes Davis, Kurt Richards, Donald <br />Reading and Correction of Minutes <br />Mr, Da.vis moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the 9/22/70 <br />meeting and to approve as written; seconded by Mr. Ledvina and unanimously <br />passed. <br />Building Department Requests <br />(a) Lanninals. Inc - Mr, Gundy enplained that the Zoning Board of Appeals <br />granted a variance of 20 car spaces to Lannings, Inc, at their last <br />meeting. He submitted nlans for an addition and remodeling of the <br />present Buckeye House Restaurant and explained that this was not a <br />new structure but an addition. Mr.. Ledvina stated that he attended <br />the meeting of the Zoning Board as a neighbor interested in the <br />variance request and that the xestaurant met the parking recluirement <br />without any variance on the basis of one space for every two serits. <br />However, on the basis of saua.re foatage, they were short spaces and <br />agreed to tear down an existing building and detached garage in order <br />to more closely conform. The 20-car variance was granted on this <br />- basis. Representatives of Lanningts, Inc, explained that there will <br />be a.Il valet parking with dining only by reserva.tion at two hour <br />interva.ls. There will be no luncheons served, Mr. Leona.rd pointed <br />out that a,n approved variance had been granted and. Mr. Richards stated <br />that he felt this was an unusual expansion of existing use and for <br />the betterment of the city. Air. Byers stated that he felt a p].anting <br />strip should be added along Z•Test 230th Street, This was drawn in on <br />the plan. Mr. Ledvina moved to approve the parking arrangement for <br />Lanning's, Inc.; seconded by Nr. Richards anc? unanimously passed. <br />Old Business <br />(a) Sedlak Develonment -Mr. Leonard sta.ted that a. motion had died for <br />lack of a second at the 9,/22/70 meeting and asked for a new motion <br />on this proposal. Mr. Ledvina moved tq reject the Sedlak Development <br />proposal; seconded b,y Mr. Davis and unani.mously passed, <br />(b) Hen Roc Investment Co -Mr. Leonaxd sta.ted that the developer had <br />renuested more time on this proposal. Mr. Davis moved to request a <br />30-day extension of time from Council; seconded by Mro Richards and <br />unanimously passed.
