<br />PLANDTING COMMISSION (10/13/70) - Page 2 <br />V. New Developments and Subdivipions <br />(a) K Mart Rezoning R.equest - Mr, Morgan presented plans for a K Mart <br />store pronosed for the Nti^T corner of ?a1est 231st Street and Lorain. <br />He explained that the area is presently zoned commercial back 5001 <br />and that their reauest was to extend this commercial zoning to four <br />Class "C" residential lots back to a maximum of 10951 at the deepest <br />point. He explained that Developers Diversified will build the <br />proposed store and lease it to the S. S. Kresge Co. Discussion was <br />held and it was pointed out that Regional Planning Commission had <br />recommended that this area be zoned for Mixed-Multiple. Mr. Morgan <br />pointed out the tax advantage to the Citya Mr. Richards stated that <br />he had reservations regarding the traffic in this area, Mra Ledvina <br />stated that he felt the parcel was too sma7.I. Both Mr. Byers and <br />Mr. Davis stated that their reservations were in rega.rds to the close- <br />ness to a residential area. Mr. Leonard agreed and stated tha.t he <br />Iiked the rendering but would like to see the building moved forward <br />at least 701 because of the residential area. Mr. Ledvina moved to <br />reject the K Mart Rezoning as poor planning; seconded by Mr. Byers <br />and passed with A'Ir. Richards and Mr. Davis voting no. The developers <br />stated that they would trSTto come up with a pZan that would eliminate <br />the objections raised. <br />VI, Communications <br />(a) Notices of commercial plans fiZed with Building Department <br />(b) Letter from Councilman John Grady ree marginal road parallel to <br />Brookpark Road <br />VII, Committee Reports - None <br />VIII. New Business - None <br />IX. Adjournment <br />Mr, Ledvina moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Mr. Byers a.nd unanimously <br />passed.
