PLAM??IT?G COM?TIS"ION (2/9/71) - Page 2 <br />He spoke in favor of underground lineti and stated that the cost increase <br />wa.s tirell within the ca.pa.bil.ities of CFI, (L,,) PQr, i3ess, 25427 Butternut <br />R.idge R.oad stated that he had attenc?ed the meeting held in Brecysville on <br />1/1/./71 ^.nd st?ted that according to Glenn i4organy Solicitor of Maced.onia, <br />132,000 volt Zines cannot be run through a resirJ.ential area. (5) 14rs. <br />Jensen, 25527 Butternut Ridge R.oad suggested loca+ing sub-station in a <br />cormnercial area. (6) Mro Bald_i-rin, 25191 Butternut Ridge Road feels tha.t <br />hioh tension lines through a resid.ential area are hazardous and suggested <br />an alternate rovte tha.t woule?n't effect the people. (7) Mr. Iiill, 25407 <br />Butternut Ricge Road objectec7 to height of poles, (g) Mr. Basil, Butter- <br />nut Ridge Road ^.sked to loolc at sub-station plans, (9) Mr, Child.s, <br />5988 Colwnbia R.oad stated that he felt the voltage should be ta.ken d.own to <br />33 KV c-inc] cited corona. problem. He sta.ted furthur that he feels the lines <br />shoulc? run rlong existing roads - not rroposed roads and that if the <br />voltage is going to be kept hign, the lines should go underground, (10) <br />Mrs. Ha, s, 25273 Butternut Ridge Road spoke against high tension lines <br />and stated that -i)erhaps it was feasible to have more sub-stations and no <br />high tension wires. (11) Bernard Schulz9 25655 Butternut R.idge R.oad stzted <br />that he personally visited the Highway DePartment and that reloca.ted route <br />252 is so far down the list, that the road might never be built. He <br />suggested loca.tion of the sub-st.^tion in the indus+rial area. Mr. <br />Leonard askec CEI representatives why they couldn't consider location of <br />the sub-station zn the present yndustrial ar.ea. 'Mr. Hayes of CEI stated <br />that the need is not just in the west end - that the need is right here <br />where the loa.d mus'u be lightened now. Other members of the Planning <br />Commission asked CEI represent^tives ciuestions regarding any points that <br />they wishecl elarified, Mr. Ledvina stated that the Planning Commission <br />members muet eva.luate wha.t is for the good of the City as a whole and <br />ad.ded that sometimes action must 'ne talcen to benefit the entire City even <br />tnough it is contrary to some of the citizenst wishes. He added that the <br />Cit,y haC no r?rovision for util.ities in their code. Mr. Byers moved to <br />aprrove location of th.e CEI 132,000 volt line as nresented and to recomrnend <br />rezoning of proposed sub-statian site to multiple residence. Mr. Richards <br />seconded the motion. The motion passed with Mr. RTelson a.nd Mr. Leonard <br />voting no. <br />N1. New DeveloDments and Subc?ivisions - P3one <br />VI. Co,nmunications <br />(a) Building Department R.eports <br />(b) Memo from ?,Ta.?Tor reo Brecksville meeting on 1/1l,/71 <br />(c) -hnnouncement of ineeting of the Industrial Development Committee on <br />2/11/71. i'Ir, Davis wi11 attend the meeting. <br />(d) Letter regarding State Rcute 611 feasibility study. Planning <br />Comriission agrees that a study should be made of access road. <br />VII. Committee Reports - None <br />VIII. New Business <br />(a) Bradle.y R.oad Culvert - Ransbury presented plan for public <br />improvement o- countJ road (Bra.dley Road) and expla.ined that the <br />County ha.s tagged this culvert as being in a very poor condition. <br />The County Yri11 ra,y 3/4 of the cost which means that the City's cost <br />w-ill be approximately >17, 500 including re-surfacing 300, of the roa.d. <br />Discussion was held.
