CITY OF NORTH OLP7STED, OHIO <br />PLANIVING COMMISSTON <br />August 22, 1972 <br />I. Roll Call <br />The mceting was called to ordcr b,y Chairman Davis at 8.:00 <br />p.m. Those present were Messrsa Davis, Donald Ledvina, <br />Secretary, Robert Elliott, James Leonard, Kurt Richards, <br />Edward Byers and J. Fdward Brewer. <br />Also present: Nrs Ernest Gundy, Building Commissioner, Mr. <br />Dave Ransbury, Assistant to City Engineer and 1Irs. Virginia <br />Hodgins, Recording Secretary. <br />II. Reading and Correc-tion of Pti.nutes <br />Mr. Elliott moved for approval of minutes of the July 25, <br />1972 mesting.. Mr. Leonard seconded and the motion passed.. <br />III. Building Department Requests <br />(a) Mro Gund.y submitted for a third time plans for Marjak <br />DevelopmEnt on Lorain Rd. adjacent to Fire Station <br />Parking plan nou? shovas 58 spacES and agrees vlith <br />Ord. 62-33 Section 1225,02. tlan also shows truck <br />parking and unloading spaces. Prir.o Ledvina stated one <br />parking space is unusable. The building is reduced <br />in sizs. Loading dock conforms to requirements. Dis- <br />cussion ensued regarding blacktop, landscaping and <br />parking. i"1r. Leonard moved for approval of the plans <br />as shown, vlr. Brewer seconded the motion. Messrs. <br />Davis, Elliott, Ieonard, Brever and Byers voted aye. <br />ivfessrso Richard and Ledvina voted no. The motion <br />passed 5 y 2e <br />(b) vir. Gundy prESented plans for enla.rgement of Arby's at <br />corner of Silverdale and Loraino The new name will be <br />"Grant's Tast Stand". Plans are to enlarge dining room <br />13 ft. and havE seating capacity for h8. There will be <br />nEU? roof of aluminum shinole. Plans are before the Com- <br />mission because of change in size ano more parking spaces <br />are required. 2? parking spaces arE required and plan <br />shous 36. Discussion of landscapin-a along Fntire length <br />of propert,y on Lorain Rd. and Silverdale. The Silverdale <br />side is non-conforming as to land use in that landscaping <br />is not wzde enough. Commission members felt landscaping <br />ulill bc tremendous improvement and business advantage. <br />Stones and plants are suggested. 'Mre Ledvina suggested <br />correcting plans to eliminate parlcing spaces 69 7 and 27 <br />and have 5 fto of landscaping along Silvcrdale side of <br />pro-perty.. Mr. Ledvina moved approval of nlans as cor- <br />rected, Mr. Leanard seconded.and the motion passed un- <br />animously.
