Planning Commission 7-10-73 <br />U. <br />_ 2 _ <br />(b) Great Northern Towers - this item to be continued. <br />New Developments and Subdivisions <br />(a ) Tii.chael Drive Subdivision <br />Engineer McDermott supplied location map. Fred Bowers <br />explained subdivision. A cul de sac contains sub lots <br />as listed. Zots C and D are existing except state has <br />bought some of the land rendering them unbuildable; <br />they a1.so have easements. Two double houses are pro- <br />posed on lots A and B. Mr. Richards moved to approve, <br />seconded by Mr. Tubbs and passed. <br />VI. <br />VII. <br />VIII. <br />IX. <br />Communications <br />Grace Manor letters of objection and Fire Department ap- <br />proval for same were the only items of communication. <br />Committee Reports - no items. <br />Nera Business <br />A note was made to look into street set back for apartments <br />with consideration of revision to code to circumvent occur- <br />rences in the future. <br />Messrs. Tubbs and Byers will be leaving the Commission. <br />Mr. Svoboda of Regional Planning Cotnmission <br />At 9a05 P.M. NLr. Svoboda displayed and explained officiaZ <br />map. It is revision of present zoning map to implement <br />changes. P].anned zoning wi11 accommodate recommendations <br />made to date. New items included in zoning map are two <br />story office-apartment (incl.uding garden type apartments, <br />town houses and retail) and motor services. The only <br />motor service location is in area of relocated Columbia <br />Road. There is also proposed additional chapter to code <br />to go along with official street map. Map shows loca- <br />tions of future schools, recreation areas, existing <br />schaols, etc. Limits of zoning are similar to present <br />code. N?r. Brewer pointed to changes asking if A resi- <br />dential sections can be upgrac3ed as shown. Mr. Svoboda <br />said this has been revised eliminating the upgrading. <br />Unmarked section of the map is to be marked C residential. <br />Alternative uses to extensive commercial development is <br />depicted along Lorain Rd. and ].imited to two story. Zon- <br />ing lines have not been changed where there is existing <br />development. These are recommendations that are being <br />presented in Comprehensive Plan. Al1 ideas and sugges- <br />tions are outlined in latest map. A goal has been achiev- <br />ed by taking 180 acres zoned for commercial and recom-
