? e <br />Planning Commission 6.-5-74 <br />- 2 - <br />acres. Size of apartments, parking spaces, HUD and FHA re- <br />quirements were discussed. N'ir. Biskind is requesting rezon- <br />ing for creation of a classification for low income housing <br />for elder].y. The Interfaith group has approved the plans <br />unofficially. Planning Commission needs definition of the <br />request (preferably in writing) and/or draft of a classifi- <br />cation for its Housing Committee. Legal description of <br />boundaries and site plan are also needed by the committee <br />for study. Joint session between Council and Planning Com- <br />mission is necessary for sol.idification of ideas in order <br />to define such a zone, including size of area, size of suites, <br />and parking requirements. Such zoning is non existant at pre- <br />sent. lTr. Tischler said his thinking is influenced by dis- <br />tance of a hospital. Other developments of this nature were <br />mentioned. Mrs. Zipp, in audience, mentioned Section 23 re- <br />quires open bidding. Mr. Prokasy moved the Chairman of the <br />Planning Commission set date for BZD Council Committee and <br />members of Planning Commission for work session to try to <br />put into form a proposal. Mr. Tischler seconded and motion <br />passed unanimously. 8 copies of plans are to be provided by <br />Mr. Biskind. Date of June 24 is suggested for preliminary <br />planning meeting with BZD. <br />V. New Developments and Subdivisions - No Items <br />VI. Communications <br />Mr. Huntington from the audience inquired concerning a 5 year plan. <br />He mentioned auto dealerships and used car lots. Mr. Prokasy ex- <br />plained present zoning code. <br />Mr. Ernest said Regional Planning Commission conducted housing study <br />with no recommendat-ion for housing for elderly. <br />Ordinances 74-64 and U-63 re rezoning of City Line Subdivision have <br />been referred back to Planning Commission for approval. Mr. Prokasy <br />moved Planning Commission recommend adoption of the two ordinances. <br />Mrs. Eian seconded and motion passed. <br />Other Communications - Letter from Stotter? Familo, Cavitch, Elden <br />& Durkin Co., L.P.A., having to do with rezoning of Mastick., was <br />received the day after the last Planning Commission meeting; Air- <br />port expansion hearing noti.ce from Mayor Christman; Letter from <br />Counci7.man Geisser regarding meeting June 26. <br />VTI. Committee Reports <br />(a) Recreation Committee - Nir. Tischler reported the ad hoc com- <br />mittee had concluded its meetings with the approval of a set <br />of plans. There was question as to whether or not the pro.- <br />posal has to come back before Planning Commission. The May <br />14 minutes of Planning Commission reflect it is necessary <br />with respect to acquisition of land and building. <br />(b) Mr. Geisser's request for recommendation of Planning Commission <br />in regard to comprehensive plan was reviewed.
