the sidewalk but chain-link and asked if chain-link could be installed. Ms. Zayed said for the safety
of their family they are requesting a privacy fence. Mr. Raig said the inspector's note suggested the
fence be moved 6 to 7 feet away from the driveway to allow vehicle line of sight and snow plowing.
Ms. Zayed asked if that would be the opposite side of the existing tree at the end of her driveway and
Mr. Raig said yes. Mr. Raig said the lot is odd shaped and the dead end street could be developed in
the fiiture so line of sight for vehicle and foot traffic should be considered. Ms. Zayed agreed to
place the fence away from the driveway.
Mr. Raig moved, seconded by Ms. Diver, to grant Tracey Zayed of 4461 Carsten Lane the
following variances:
1. A 3 foot height variance for privacy fence beyond front building line; code permits 3 ft,
applicant shows 6 ft, Section 1135.02 (f)(1).
2. A variance for privacy fence beyond front building line; code requires 50% open, applicant
shows 0%, section 1135.02 (f)(1).
Variances are conditioned upon the fence which is to run parallel to the driveway being a
minimum of 6 feet off the driveway in alignment with the side yard. Motion passed 4-0.
David Sladewski; 28087 Anela Drive
Proposal consists of a screened-in porch; the following variance is requested:
A 15 foot variance for rear yard setbaclc for residence too close to rear property line; code requires 50
ft, applicant shows 35 ft, Section 1135.08(a). Note: The existing non-conforming deck requires a
permit and footers exposed to ensure code compliance.
Ms. Sladewslci and Bob Zielimsl<i with Patio Enclosure were sworn in. Ms. Sladewski said the
existing declc will be screened in to provide a seating area for the family and a place to clean their
dogs. A 6 foot section of the existing deck will remain open for a grill. Mr. Zielimski said the
screened porch will not exceed the existing deck's footprint. The neighborhood was built in such a
way that any modifications to structures require a variance. Ms. Sladewski said her property abuts
Olmsted Falls which is a wooded area with standing water that attracts mosquitoes. Mr. Zielimslci
said downspouts would be installed and the patio skirted. Ms. Bellido asked if the enclosure
included windows or only screening. Ms. Sladewski said the enclosure is screens only. Mr. Raig said
the enclosure would not adversely affect the neighborhood and will enhance the owner's use of their
yard.
Ms. Bellido moved, seconded by Mr. Raig, to grant David Sladewski of 28087 Angela Drive a
15 foot variance for rear yard setback for residence too close to rear property line; code
requires 50 ft, applicant shows 35 ft, Section 1135.08(a), which passed 4-0.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business Mr. Lopez was excused and the meeting adjourned at •50 pm.
Z"V
0
Je 0fer Ru ph, Chair ponna Rote, Clerlc f Commissions
Approved:
2
