Mr. Bizjak with Sign-Lite was sworn in. Mr. Bizjak said Marc's corporate office is updating
their signs of fifteen years. The existing lettering will remain the only alteration is the
apostrophe, which will be replaced by an illuminated leaf. The leaf increases the height and
square footage of existing signs when measuring them in accordance to city codes. Mr. Mitchell
said he has no objections to the request as it is minimal. Ms. Rudolph asked if there were other
methods for measuring signs which would minimize the number of sign cases before the board
and Mr. Mitchell said no. Mr. Gareau said both the current and next applicant installed signage
during a timeframe which the city had no sign codes and although signage is existing or being
replaced in kind there were no previous variances granted. Therefore once they are altered or
replaced they are required to meet code. Board members had no objections to the alteration.
Mr. Lopez moved, seconded by Ms. Bellido, to grant Marc's of 26393 Brookpark Road the
following variances:
1. A 9-1/2 in variance for a wall sign highea- than code allows (Sign 2: Pharmacy); code
permits 4 ft, applicant shows 4 ft 9-1/2 in, Section 1163.28(c).
Motion passed 5-0.
CVS Pharmacv; 27713 Lorain Road
Proposal consists of signage and the following variances are requested.
1.
