within the boundaries of the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. The <br />Museum consists of several of the oldest historic homes of North Oimsted. Many of these have <br />been moved to the site over the last SO years. <br />Air RaG?' <br />t <br />L_771, <br />? -? <br />GOALs FOR 2014 <br />On Saturday, August 24, 2013 the Landmarks Commission co- <br />sponsored a speaker series on the National Air Races with the Olmsted <br />Historical Society. Air Racing Historian Bill Meixner made a <br />presentation on the National Air Races ranging from the late 1920's <br />through the late 1930's, with pictures and stories that brought to life <br />the era of aviation pioneers such as Jimmy Doolittle and Benny <br />Howard. <br />In addition to the goals listed in the City's 2009 Historic Preservation Plan, the Landmarks <br />Commission has specific priorities for 2014, which include the following: <br />• Work together with City Officials, Arts Commission, North Olmsted Schools, Olmsted <br />Historical Society and other local groups/organizations to prepare for North Olmsted's 2015 <br />Bicentennial celebration. <br />• Support efforts to create a capital improvement plan for Old Town Hall to ensure the <br />building remains in good condition and best serves the needs of the community. <br />• Continue to identify potential landmarks and research eligible properties for historic <br />recognition plaques. <br />24048 Mastick Road: The home is a Lustron home constructed entirely of inetal in 1949. <br />There were only a few thousand steel homes constructed, most outside Columbus right <br />after World War II.
