A <br />LA1°1I)1VIARKS CO1bIMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JULY 8, 2013 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council's Chambers. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Rosemary Walker, Dale Thomas, David Neville, Tom Dubowski, <br />Albert Richner <br />Absent: Maryellen Davis, Jim Morse, Don Rerko <br />Staff: Director of Planning and Development Kimberly Wenger, Clerk of Commissions <br />Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Neville, to approve the Landmarks Commission minutes <br />of June 10, 2013 which passed 6-0. <br />OLD BiJSINESS <br />Homes of historical interest <br />• 4322 Porter Road <br />• 25747 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Mr. Schumann circulated a draft letter introducing the homeowners to the commission. Mr. <br />Richner said he would format the letter to correlate with the documents he would like to add. <br />Once the letter is completed he will send it to the clerk to be put on letterhead and mailed. Once <br />the letter is sent he will make contact with the homeowners. Mr. Neville said he met with the <br />owners along Butternut and they were interested in historic recognition. He will stay in contact <br />with the owners to help guide them through the process and asked that an application be sent. <br />Mr. Schumann said he would like the commission to look into the steel home on Mastick Road <br />as it is quite unique. Mr. Thomas said there were only a few thousand steel homes constructed <br />outside Columbus right after World War II in the 1950's. Mr. Thomas was asked to identify the <br />address so the commission could start researching the home and make contact with the owners. <br />Designation of Landmarks <br />• 4302 Porter Road: set public meeting date <br />Ms. Wenger said the Planning & Design Commission will review the Porter Road report at their <br />July 24, 2013 meeting and the public meeting can be scheduled August 12, 2013 during <br />Landmark's meeting. Once the public meeting is held legislation can be forwarded to City <br />Council for first reading August 20. <br />NEW BUSIlVESS
