<br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF MAY 13, 2013 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. in Council's Chambers. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Albert Richner, Jim Morse, Dale Thomas, David Neville, Tom <br />Dubowski <br />Absent: Maryellen Davis, Rosemary Walker, Don Rerko <br />Staff: Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Planning Secretary Tricia Granfors <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Neville moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to approve the Landmarks Commission minutes of <br />Apri18, 2013, which passed 6-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />North Olmsted Citv Schools; 27501 Butternut Ridge Road, PPN 235-16-021: <br />A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish the existing house. Note: LMC tabled <br />03/11/13. <br />No school district representatives attended the meeting. Mr. Schumann described a meeting held <br />with Planning and Development Director Wenger, Jack Boss, and several representatives from <br />the schools. Due to budget restraints the schools no longer intend to complete all projects <br />represented on the submitted plans. Specifically, funding is currently unavailable for the <br />demolition and full restoration/improvement of the subject lot. The schools would like to work <br />with the Olmsted Historical Society to preserve the house until the money is available to move it <br />to Frostville Museum; the society is willing to do so. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Neville, to table the request for a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness to demolish the house at 27501 Batternut Ridge Road pending <br />communication from the school district as to how they wish to proceed, which passed 6-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Landmarks recognition plaques <br />Discussion of size, style and type of plaques <br />The historic recognition plaque and landmark plaque styles were discussed. A new supply of <br />landmark plaques is needed. <br />Mr. Richner moved seconded by Mr. Dubowksi, to continue using the same 8-inch by 14- <br />inch size and style landmark plaque as was used for the Biddulph House, which passed 6-0.
