PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR JULY 24, 2013 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Malone called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm in Council Chambers and led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Greg Malone, Julie Nader, David Anderson, Rosemary Walker, Ralph Bohlmann, <br />Don Rerko, Paul Schumann <br />Staff: Planning & Development Director Kimberly Wenger, Assistant Law Director Bryan <br />O'Malley, Assistant City Engineer Jonathan Kocinski, Clerk of Commissions Donna <br />Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Ms. Nader, to approve the Planning & Design <br />Commission minutes of June 12, 2013, which passed 7-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />CMS13-20: Mattress Firm; 26410 Lorain Road <br />Representative: James Kerr of BEK Developers <br />Ms. Wenger noted the consolidation was a condition of the final approval of Mattress Firm's <br />development plan. She recommended the commission approve the request. Mr. Kocinski said <br />the engineering department recommends approval once corrections are made. Mr. Kerr <br />submitted a Mylar and said it reflected the County Auditor's requirements. <br />Mr. Malone moved seconded by Ms. Nader to approve CMS13-20: Mattress Firm of 26410 <br />Lorain Road their request to consolidate three (3) individual parcels currently identified as <br />PPNs 232-28-024 (0.2275 ac.), 232-28-055, and 232-28-056 (0.3459 ac. combined) to form a <br />single parcel containing within its boundaries approximately 0.5734 acres all zoned <br />General Retail, which passed 7-0. <br />CMS13-21: Westfield Re2al Cinema; 4952 Great Northern Mall <br />Representatives: legal counsel Anthony Vacanti; Westfield representatives Phil Poppinga, Mike <br />Walsh, Annie Dorsey; Regal Cinema representatives Kelly Arnold, Ed Sangmeister; Rail: <br />representatives Mike Mariola, John Swidrak <br />Ms. Wenger said the proposal consists of modifying previously approved plans. The modified <br />plans show four tenants within the previously approved footprint. The applicants are addressing <br />two of the four tenant spaces at this time and will return once the final designs are finalized. The <br />two tenants being addressed are Regal Cinema and The Rail. Modified plans include incorporating <br />Regal Cinema and Rail's design styles. Fagade changes include building materials, building <br />lighting, color palettes and Rail's outdoor patio. Variances required are for signage only. In
