? . Owner Joan Mongello and sign representative Paul Lange were administered the oath. Mr. Lange said the site has one monument sign which lists the names of the businesses however clients can't find the suites located behind the front building. Ms. Wenger said she has no objections as the sign is internal to the site and functions as a directional sign. Ms. Bellido asked if consideration was given to adding wording to the current monument sign. Mr. Lange said they hadn't because directions are needed once clients enter the site. The directional sign directs vehicles to the rear tenants. Board members had no objections to the request. Ms. Rudolph moved, seconded by Ms. Bellido to grant the following variances to CMS13-46 Courtyard Office Building of 25118 Lorain Road: 1. A variance for an additional ground sign is required, code permits 1, applicant shows 2, section 1163.27(a). 2. A 90 foot variance for ground signs less than 200 feet apart, code requires 200 ft separation, applicant shows 110 ft, section 1163.27(a). Motion passed 3-0. CMS14-01: Starbucks; 24950 Lorain Road Proposal consists of signage; the following variances are requested: 1. A variance for 1 additional wall sign; code permits 1, applicant shows 2, Section 1163.28(a). 2. A 23-inch variance for a wall sign higher than code allows; code permits 4 feet, applicant shows 5 feet 11 inches, Section 1163.28(c). Note: BZA granted a variance for a second wall sign on 10/1/98 which was conforming. Sign representative Bryan Langley was administered the oath. Mr. Langley said Starbucks is rebranding their sites and replacing existing logos with the new logo. Ms. Wenger said she had no objections to the request but said if a variance for a second wall sign was granted in 1998 the first request is not necessary. Mr. Langley said the logo would enhance the appearance of the building, Mr. Raig agreed. Ms. Bellido said the character of the area would not be impacted and the logo will improve the site. Ms. Wenger asked about the other exterior work shown on the plan and advised that if any exterior changes are to be made the applicant would be required to seek approval. Mr. Langley said there would be no other work completed besides the logo. Ms. Bellido moved, seconded by Mr. Raig to grant CMS14-01: Starbucks of 24950 Lorain Road a 23-inch variance for a wall sign higher than code allows; code permits 4 feet, applicant shows 5 feet 11 inches, Section 1163.28(c), which passed 3-0.
