There was an improperly built garage attached to the <br />home which was torn down. Mr. Samarian said the pool was removed, and they're working at <br />the site when weather permits to secure the home. The siding company assured him that all the <br />wood siding salvaged would be stored inside the home during the winter months. Mr. Rerko said <br />fi•om a distance the materials will appear the same however once near the structure it will be very <br />noticeable. The commission should be prepared to address a possible outcome of mixing vinyl <br />and wood siding not looking good. Cedar siding is readily available for use today so replacing <br />inissing or damaged pieces and siding the home is possible. The home has no molding on the <br />corner boards and the vinyl being used will require the corners have some type of transitional <br />board. Mr. Samarian questioned using wood shingles froin the pealcs of the home to the window <br />sills and then vinyl siding to grade. Mr. Rerko said breaking up the siding would change the <br />character and style of the home. Mr. Neville said the front and east elevation should remain <br />wood siding. Mr. Schumann aslced if the owner was aware they are required to build a garage. <br />Mr. Sainarian said they agreed to submit a plan for a garage or breezeway for review in March or <br />April of 2015, right now they're buttoning up the house for winter. Mr. Schumann said this style <br />of home would not have an attached garage the garage should be a detached garage. Mr. Rerlco <br />questioned the intent of the owner as it appeared the home was for sale. Mr. Samarian said the <br />home is for sale, they purchase three homes a year fix them and resell them. Until the hoine is <br />sold they will button it up with the siding. If the home is not sold by spring they may move into <br />this home until it is sold. <br />The coinmissioners prefer the east and front of the home remain wood siding. Mr. Rerko said to <br />tie the wood and vinyl together the wood should be continued around the south corner to ensure <br />the hoine could be restored in the future.
