LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY 10, 2014 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Schumann called tfie meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Jim Dubelko, Tom Dubowski, Duane Limpert, Jim Morse, David Neville, Albert <br />Richner, Paul Schumann, Dale Thomas <br />Absent: Don Rerko <br />Staff: Planning & Development Director Kim Wenger <br />Mr. Neville moved, seconded by Mr. Limpert, to excuse the absence of Mr. Rerko, which <br />was approved 8-0. <br />BOARD ORGANIZATION <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski to appoint Mr. Neville as Chair and Mr. <br />Morse as Vice Chair of the Landmarks Commission for 2014, which was approved 8.0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Neville moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of November 11, 2013, which was approved 8-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />2013 Annual Report <br />Mr. Thomas offered corrections to the annual report in regards to the Lustron house; the <br />construction year was between 1948 and 1950, and the current owner bought the house in 1983 <br />so is not the original owner. Mr. Morse will research the original owner. Mr. Dubowski <br />identified another correction required. <br />Mr. Thomas moved, seconded by Mr. Richner, to approve the 2013 Annual Report as <br />amended, which was approved 8-0. <br />Historical Home Recognition <br />Mr. Thomas reported that the owner of 24048 Mastick Road, the Lustron steel house, has not <br />indicated much interest in recognizing the property and the renter may be reluctant to allow <br />visitors to see the house. The Commission will revisit this property in the future. Mr. Richner <br />advised that the Commission could also still consider recognizing 4322 Porter Road. Despite <br />changes to the house involving residing, the home would still meet two of the three criteria for <br />the program. Mr. Richner will reach out to the owner prior to the next Commission meeting.
