Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski to grant CMS15-3731: Paul Accordino <br />of 25747 Butternut Ridge Road a Certificate of Appropriateness for both the front and rear <br />porch as submitted on plans received 6/30/15. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Recognition Programs <br />Uniquely North Olmsted <br />Centennial Homes <br />Ms. Wenger said she met with the Law Director regarding the commission's authority to create <br />programs. To ensure the commission has the codified authority, an amendment to chapter <br />1165.04 Duties has been drafted and will be introduced at the first Council meeting in August. <br />Commission members liked the wording of the amendments to chapter 1165.04, as well as the <br />Uniquely North Olmsted concept. Mr. Neville asked if there would be a registry of all things <br />recognized by the commission or perhaps a place where documentation, photos or items can be <br />displayed for the general public to see. Ms. Wenger said a method and way to make notable <br />things accessible to the public should be explored by the commission. She discussed possibly <br />holding an annual award ceremony which the community could attend and become more <br />involved. The commission discussed possible categories of recognition and ways to try to engage <br />the community to participate. Mr. Dubelko said the commission could also look at joint <br />programs with the Arts Commission which could recognize historic and cultural achievements. <br />Seltzer and Kni2ht-Biddulph landmark ceremonies <br />Mr. Neville said he would touch base with Mr. Limpert regarding setting a date or a meeting <br />with Mr. Kraley to discuss a ceremony. <br />Bicentennial Updates <br />Mr. Neville said a meeting with the SITES teachers in regards to the history tour went well; they <br />are interested in helping as much as they can. Once school starts he will be able to advise us how <br />many students could be available for the bus tour.
