LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR JUNE 8, 2015 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Neville called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: David Neville, Jim Dubelko, Gretchen Schuler, Tom Dubowski, Duane Limpert, Paul <br />Schumann, Jim Morse <br />Absent: Don Rerko <br />Staff: Director of Planning & Development Kimberly Wenger, Clerk of Commissions Donna <br />Rote <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Schuler, moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of April 13, 2015 which passed 7-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />CMS15-3270: Anthony Samarin; 25747 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Proposal consists of a Certificate of Appropriateness for front steps and landscaping. <br />Ms. Wenger advised the board that the property recently transferred ownership therefore it is <br />appropriate for the commission to permanently table the application. Mr. Accordino said he <br />purchased the property recently so he isn't acquainted with the home yet. The prior owner <br />advised him that there are two violations, a garage and front steps, and suggested he was in the <br />process of receiving approvals for them, although he has not seen documentation pertaining to <br />them. It is his intent to install the front steps first then address the garage. He is not a flipper he <br />and his family will be living in the home. He is originally from Lakewood and just moved back <br />to the area. Mr. Accordino said he would return in July to address the front steps. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Schuler to grant CMS15-3270: Anthony Samarin <br />of 25747 Butternut Ridge Road a Certificate of Appropriateness for front steps and <br />landscaping, which was denied 0-7. <br />CMS15-3306: Christopher & Glenda Lane; 25912 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Proposal consists of a Certificate of Appropriateness for replacing existing windows. <br />Mr. Lane said he recently purchased his home and in the process of addressing items which need <br />to be updated. He would like to replace some existing windows first as they are in poor <br />condition. Mr. Neville discussed the manner in which window applications are reviewed. Mr. <br />Morse asked if the curve window on the second floor would be replaced and Mr. Lane said no. <br />Mr. Morse asked if the new windows would mimic the existing windows and Mr. Lane said it is <br />their intent to mimic the look as much as possible.
