LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTI3 OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR JANUARY 12, 2015 <br />ROLL C'ALL <br />Chairman Neville called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: David Neville, Jim Dubelko, Jim Morse, Gretchen Schuler, Tom Dubowslci, Duane <br />Limpert <br />Absent: Paul Schumann, Don Rerlco <br />Staff: Director of Planning & Development Kimberly Wenger, Clerk of Commissions Donna <br />Rote <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Mr. Dubellco moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowslci, to appoint Mr. Neville chair and Mr. <br />Morse vice chair for 2015, which passed 6-0. <br />REVIEVV AlVD APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Schuler moved, seconded by Mr. Limpert to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of December 8, 2014 as written, which passed 6-0. <br />NEW I3USINESS <br />2014 Annual Report Ms. Wenger said the draft report covered COAs issued and work on the upcoming bicentennial <br />events; however 2015 goals need updating. Mr. Morse said there have been individuals born in <br />North Olmsted who became individuals of significant achievements and wondered if the <br />commission wanted to recognize them or if it.was within their scope of work. Mr. Dubellco said <br />if there are individuals born in North Olmsted who achieved recognition elsewhere and the city <br />wanted to reflect upon that with pride, it would be within the Landmarks scope to do the <br />research. There was discussion of possible properties meriting historic recognition plaques, such <br />as the Lustron home on Masticlc Road. <br />The commission's participation in the bicentennial events should be included in the goals. Mr. <br />O'Malley said the historic tour will take place October 11. Mr. Neville felt a broad statement <br />pertaining to the commission's involvement with the events was more appropriate than listing <br />each one. Ms. Wenger suggested Old Town Hall capital improvement plan remain on the goals. <br />Mr. Neville said the Parker Ranch was put on hold due to family health issues however it should <br />remain on the goals so the home can be plaque. Mr. Morse felt that the cemetery project should <br />be a priority of the commission. <br />Mr. Limpert suggested the commission not take on more than four projects for the year. If the <br />commission finds their goals reached they could loolc at adding more. Ms. Wenger said she
