CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Brake called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Bill Brake, Lauren Suter, David Wahl, Stephanie Procter, Sue Collander, JoAnn <br />DePolo, Jeff Campbell, Annie Kilbane, Laura Simna <br />Absent: Cailey Brake, Nicole McClain <br />Staff: Planning & Development Director Kim Wenger <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Lauren moved, seconded by Bill, to approve the Arts Commission minutes of February 18, <br />2015 which passed unanimously. <br />Lauren moved, seconded by JoAnn, to approve the Arts Commission minutes of May 20, <br />2015 which passed unanimously. <br />ONGOING BUSINESS <br />PR/Publicity <br />The website and the Facebook page continue to be update with event information. As the end of <br />the year nears, consideration will need to be given to what to do with the website, Facebook will <br />continue. The group discussed decommissioning the website, moving some pieces to the City's <br />website, or what it might cost to continue the Celebrate site in the future. One valuable statistic <br />would be is the current level of traffic on the website. Kim will start discussions in the <br />administration regarding feasibility in continuing Celebrate at least until the new city site's <br />capabilities are understood and possibly beyond that. <br />The last piece of inerchandise created was the handmade holiday ornament. No other pieces of <br />merchandise are anticipated. The budget is such that expenditure without guaranteed revenue <br />would be unwise, given the limited number of remaining events to sell the products. <br />Kim said a bicentennial program would be produced with photos and descriptions of the year's <br />events. The group discussed the potential printing cost, whether the programs. should be free, and <br />how to control their distribution. Kim hopes to understand more about printing cost by the next <br />meeting. <br />North Olmsted Noel <br />Kim reviewed the August discussion the group had regarding the event FKA Holiday Market & <br />Tree Lighting. North Olmsted Noel was the agreed upon name change via group email. Lauren <br />has updated the logo. Bill has secured a reindeer and will follow up with sled dogs. Laura has <br />priced music for two groups, a string ensemble and a brass ensemble. Recorded music can be <br />used outside and equipment set up on the patio.
