installation from a landscape company. The group felt the expense was worthwhile. Lauren has
identified craft kits for the kids' crafts station. Molly will help staff the table. Stephanie has
begun reaching out to market vendors.
The group discussed a fire and ice sculpture and/or inviting ice sculptors to participate in some
way. Fire and ice was deemed too expensive given other financial commitments. JoAnn thought
ice sculptors would be feasible; they bring a mostly completed piece to the event and finish it
there where the public can watch.
Lauren will provide Kim with a contact for roasted nuts; Kim will ask Croolced Kettle Popcorn to
participate again. Sue will begin purchase of hot chocolate supplies. Her decorative frame will be
used to create a selfie station inside with other holiday decorations. Jeff will handle all aspects of
the bonfire/campfire including hay bale procurement (possibly donated by Zergott's). Annie will
be responsible for securing Santa. The group suggested advertising the specific time Santa would
arrive in promotional materials. Kim will see if SITES students can serve as elf helpers and
candy cane crew.
The group discussed the programming for the event and generally agreed to make the event
longer (3 hours instead of 2.5) to create a more open house feel, and to start the event earlier to
take advantage of daylight. The event will run 3:00 to 6:00pm. Kim will update the website.
SprinLyvale Clam Bake & Golf Outing
Ticket sales have been sluggish with the registration deadline approaching on September 21St
Kim said she will plan to extend the deadline by one week. The proceeds from this event will
help to fund remaining bicentennial programs (which are exceeding budget), so it is important to
promote the clambake in every way possible, both in ±ickets and sponsorships.
Bicentennial Arts Showcase
JoAnn is well prepared for the Arts Showcase on October l Ot". Remaining design needs are the
event program and staff/volunteer t-shirts. She is in the process of gathering information from
the various performance groups. She needs to provide them a map of the mall to show
performance area and green room location. JoAnn will schedule a walk through with the event
crew likely for October Stl,
Bicentennial Musical
Jeff provided an update and gave descriptions of the various musical numbers. He shared some
of the local trivia learned while developing the musical.
Summer in the City
The proposed 2016 dates are the third Sundays of June, July and August (June 19, July 17 and
August 21) from 6:00-8:30pm. Cabin is reserved; Kim will check with Parks & Recreation about
the gazebo.
Arts Commission Shirts
Arts Commission members attending events as volunteers should be more recognizable. One
way to achieve this is through matching shirts. Kim provided a sample polo shirt for the group to
