The Arts Commission previously agreed to host a clambake at Springvale on October 2nd. The <br />group discussed the pricing and the value of adding a golf component to the event to create <br />greater value. Kim also asked Jeff, JoAnn and Laura to provide entertainment at the event, which <br />would also serve to promote the Arts Showcase and Bicentennial Musical. Kim will talk with <br />Springvale to understand how the golf component could work. <br />NEW BU5INESS <br />Summer in the City <br />Family Concert Series (June 21, July 19, August 16 @ 6:OOPM): Laura said bands and food <br />trucks are confirmed but needs some leads on dessert vendors. Kim will provide some contacts <br />for dessert. Bill needs to iron out contract details with Brent Kirby. Supplemental activities have <br />not yet been planned. David said the music should be the focus of the event. The group felt some <br />activity or performance during the musicians' 20 minute break would draw more attendance and <br />keep the event lively. Jeff will look into the Jumping Fleas for June, Kim will have a bike related <br />activity in July to promote Bikecentennial, and Bill will contact the Eaglets or Jazzercise group <br />for August. <br />Movies in the Park (June 12; July 10, August 7@ dusk): Kim will follow up with Chick-fil-A to <br />confirm they will be at the event. <br />Lauren has designed a banner which will be installed at the gazebo in the park for the suinmer, <br />listing all summer movies and concerts. Laura said the food trucks were very (very) emphatic <br />about making a strong effort at promotions and wanted flyers to distribute at their other events. <br />Lauren will design a flyer with the three concerts and food vendors listed. <br />Bicentennial Boom - July 5, 2015 @ 7:OOPM <br />Kim updated the group on happenings since the last meeting, including the mall backing away <br />from the festival portion of the event and a committee of city staff and commission members <br />coming together to pull it off. She reviewed a DJ has been secured, food trucks confirmed, and <br />groups identified to sell pop and water. Additional'entertainment is in the works, such as face <br />painters and balloon benders. The next committee meeting is 5/27 at 6PM at city hall. <br />BiKEcentennial & Community Picnic - July 26, 2015 @ 10:30AM <br />Kim said the committee has secured ThrillerBMX and St. Edward Trash Talkers for <br />entertainment plus the Bike Village will contain a bike decorating station and groups and <br />organizations related to biking. A SK ride will be part of the event. DDR is donating shirts and <br />water bottles. There will be a#bikecenntennial Twitter effort with people posting pictures biking <br />in and around North Olmsted. Jeff suggested the idea of biking the Interurban. At least one piece <br />of bike specific merchandise will be produced. <br />Other Event Undates <br />Arts Showcase update: JoAnn said the event will be on October l Oth at Great Northern Mall. She <br />met with the marketing director and determined the event location will be in the food court area <br />outside of Dick's. She reviewed the confirmed musical groups and dance performances. Brian <br />Johnson from The Voice will sing two songs. She is looking for an emcee for the event, perhaps
