CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 18, 2015 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Brake called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Bill Brake, Lauren Suter, Stephanie Procter, David Wahl, Jeff Campbell, Laura <br />Simna, JoAnn DePolo, Annie Kilbane <br />Absent: Sue Collander, Cailey Brake, Nicole McClain <br />Staff: Planning & Development Director Kim Wenger <br />APPOINT CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR <br />Annie moved, seconded by Laura, to appoint Bill Brake as Arts Commission chair for 2015, <br />which was approved 8-0. <br />Bill moved, seconded by Annie, to appoint Lauren Suter as Arts Commission vice chair for <br />2015, which was approved 8-0. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Lauren moved, seconded by Laura, to approve the Arts Commission minutes of January 21, <br />2015, which was approved 8-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />I r North Olmsted <br />Kim recapped the first two February events, Commit to be Fit and the State of the City. Both <br />were successful at raising awareness of the bicentennial. Merchandise was available and studerit <br />art from Maple Intermediate was displayed. <br />The final event is the Farm Market & Food Show on Sunday, February 22nd at the cabin from 1- <br />4PM. Kim encouraged all commission members to attend. Volunteers are needed to help at the <br />merchandise/raffle table and direct guests. Commissioners can help to promote the event on <br />Facebook and by emailing the event postcard to their networks. Jeff will provide a list of North <br />Olmsted groups with Facebook pages to improve social media connectivity in the community. <br />The North Olmsted Magazine has hit households in the city and has been well received. Kudos <br />to resident authors for doing a great job on the history articles. <br />I r North Olmsted merchandise can be sold at Springvale for the upcoming Friday fish fries. <br />Commissioners signed up to spend some time at the events promoting sales. Springvale will sell <br />items at the counter when volunteers are not available. Kim will provide merchandise that can be <br />kept at Springvale from week to week and a way to track sales plus table tents for advertising.
